Despite what you may have been told, nowhere in the world has socialism been tried and failed.

Socialism has to be worldwide, and requires an advanced economy capable of producing enough wealth to reliably satisfy our material needs.

And it needs a majority to realise that those needs will never be properly met under the capitalist system.
