Sackcloth and Ashes
In the leading article of our last issue occurred the following:
“But the vote is only an expreesion of opinion, and its only value lies in the opinion that it expresses.”
The sentence should have read : “But the vote is also an expression of opinion, and much of its value lies in the opinion that it expresses.”
While the immediately preceding sentences render improbable any misunderstanding as to the function of a vote, it is important to correct at this, the earliest opportunity, this result of undue haste in going to press.
