Workers are ever more productive due to the introduction of new technology to the means of production. The new technology means that it takes less socially necessary labour time to produce the same good or service than before the new technology was introduced. In a society where the well being of the wealth producers was the top priority, as new technology was being introduced, the necessary labour time to produce what society uses would be reduced. Consequently, disposable time for humans to use as they please would increase.
But we do not live in such a society. We live under the thumb of the few who make up the capitalist and landlord classes. We live under their system of wage slavery. They even tell us that we’re in debt to them as they borrow money from themselves to reduce their taxes used to run their government, the political State.
