Thomas_MoreParticipant
Since when did Sovietists care about the workers of the world?
Castro was furious when Khrushchev turned back from the brink. He had no care for the world’s workers, but was prepared to provoke a nuclear holocaust.
The same with the militarists in Russia, talking about obliterating Britain – meaning the horrible deaths of millions of workers, individuals with feelings, connections, hopes and dreams just like people everywhere. We are not millions of Liz Truss clones!
Thomas_MoreParticipantDon’t apologise Alan. You are right.
Thomas_MoreParticipantSo how is Putin’s Russia any more “socialistic” than the West?
Is it the overthrown Soviet Union still tingeing your imagination?

Thomas_MoreParticipantWhilst I reject the term ‘ideology’ here, I am glad you know about us.
Leftists like TS and Alien are ideologists. We are not. Leftists follow an ideology, which is something leaders lay down for followers to tread. We have no leaders and no followers. We tell people NOT to vote for the party unless they personally agree with our principles.
But in leftist parties, and other parties, which all have leaders, an ideology is laid down that would-be members must follow. They also just want votes from all and sundry, regardless of who is voting and what he or she believes. We are the only party which hopes to see its own dissolution, e.g. from socialism being achieved.

Thomas_MoreParticipantLizzie, please know that we stand against all war and nationalism and always have done. Were a member to diverge from this principled stand s/he would be challenged on it and expulsion from the party would follow were such proven.
Thomas_MoreParticipantMore putinist garbage from the troll and now another, which must be trounced. Otherwise newcomers who come here knowing nothing of the SPGB might think we stand for that rubbish.
Thomas_MoreParticipantThe Russian army still flies the Soviet flag alongside the Tsarist one.
The joke of the “communism” that never was has really come home to roost.Thomas_MoreParticipantOf pertinence, given that the bugbear of the Stalinists is “Nazism” round every corner …
At school I had a German teacher who, as a young girl, had been a member of the Nazi Party. She lived in the east of Germany and she told me that when the Russians moved in, she and the others (she was a secretary) in her office merely changed their swastika armbands for red hammer & sickle ones and carried on with business as usual – as members of the Communist Party!
Thomas_MoreParticipantAt least the Trotskyists aren’t taking sides. The Stalinists are outright nationalists (Putinist).
Thomas_MoreParticipantAnd the Jacobins are still and always were Bolshevik heroes.
Thomas_MoreParticipantThe Leninist obsession with “imperialism” ought to make them support Hitler’s plaint too, against the imperialism of Britain’s denying markets to Germany and “stifling” it.
In fact, just as Stalin was completing Russia’s capitalist revolution Hitler was doing the same in Germany – completing a national process begun by the Prussian kings and by Bismarck.
Thomas_MoreParticipantNew bande-dessinee history of the Makhnovshchina available from Editions libertaires.
Thomas_MoreParticipantWhich is understood by us because, unlike the Leninists, we don’t worship Marx as a god nor recite him like a Christian recites psalms.
Thomas_MoreParticipantSince the working class is the last class to be emancipated, how can you have a “workers’ state”?
With the last class emancipated, what class is there to rule or to be ruled?
