I almost – but not really – feel sorry for Labour Party activists who thought they were in a socialist party.
paula.mcewanModeratorI can understand the despair of Labour Party activists watching its “Leader” side with USA and our Conservative Government. At a time when – hopefully- the whole world recognises that Israel is on the wrong side of human history.
paula.mcewanModeratorI’m sorry Almamater. I didn’t realise you were quoting an organisation not yourself with your comment about “class brothers”.
However please bear in mind in future, when you post here, that I will get annoyed if you post anything here that implies that the working class is male.
Surely you will agree with me that we are not brothers?

Why do you persevere in the Victorian fantasy that workers are brothers. Had you no mother, sister or niece? Why do you forget that women are in your boat?

paula.mcewanModeratorThank you ALB for your injection of common sense. You show that it’s easy to post here without degenerating into personal insults while at the same time adding to actual facts/knowledge.
For what it’s worth, I would add that I’m happy to belong to a political party (SPGB) that opposes the Russian invasion of Ukraine and also opposes Ukrainian defence.
Did the people of Ukraine get a choice about fighting back against the Russian invasion – no the men got conscripted.
As long as Zelensky continues the war the longer I will despise him. I equally despise NATO, USA and UK. We must end war! One day we’ll sign an end to war.

It’s fun to compete and acknowledge a winner. I don’t know why anyone would think that socialism means ending all our fun.
paula.mcewanModeratorI will only add this – socialism is impossible without women on board.
paula.mcewanModeratorOkay I’m a dreamer but the reason I like this song so much is because I think that when we establish socialism the world will be signing up to it. We’ll surely have a signed contract at this stage and have a singalong.

paula.mcewanModeratorpaula.mcewanModeratorThe Labour Party’s pronouncement today to the trade unions is a load of nonsense. Sadly the audience applauded. The Labour Party has never been in favour of working class emancipation. Unfortunately this is our world. I’m particularly annoyed about the Labour Party’s failure to promise a decent standard of living to pensioners, tenants, children, students, carers, disabled, unemployed and everyone else.
paula.mcewanModeratorI am stepping in here to moderate this heated discussion. So please help me here comrades. I think Lizzie made a perfectly valid point. So – in my judgment- anyone who personally insults her on this thread and that includes you robbo – will be deleted. Lizzie is deliberately provocative but we can live with her attitude without going nuclear, I hope. Please stop personal insults. Love and peace.
