It looks as if the USA has ceded control again and ditched its ally.
The BBC has degraded it to a FAQ
PartisanZParticipantComrade Culbert:
Can you explain to me your message about the 304 paper sent out ?
Those were the ballot papers sent out to members to vote on Conference motions.
My point is that only a third of members returned them.
There could be any number of reasons for this. I personally find the motions and amendments cumbersome these days and I am used to this sort of thing from trade union days.
But I always return my paper.
PartisanZParticipantYour question is not being seen.
(At the time of writing this I am the only one here.)
I just drop in and out, as I am usually working in the site. I look to see if there are any current topical posts, which I can make use of elsewhere.
There has never been any more than a handful of members engaging in any kind of discussion on the Forum.
I have recently removed 100 or so subscribers whose email addresses are bouncing.
The debating style can seem intimidating.
My guess is after a while it can get boring.

PartisanZParticipantMy own experience was that I had identified with ‘socialism’, it consisted of fair do’s for the workers, but I could not understand why Labour in office couldn’t deliver more equitable outcomes.
Their propaganda chimed with me, but their actions in office belied this.
I was an active trade unionist and a recently made shop steward, but my head was scrambled.I still thought there could be ‘a fair days pay’ etc. but was disabused of this notion by a fellow worker, who didn’t elaborate much further at the time, that there would be no wages in socialism. (He must have heard it from us, but this was alien to my thinking even as I had come across left activists.)
I realised I was speaking nonsense and making up things, to fill in the gaps in my knowledge. A weird and uncomfortable realisation.
It wasn’t until I stumbled across an outdoor party platform some years later that this was made explicable and all the pieces began to fall into place as I investigated further.
I have to say at times in the process I suffered extreme embarrassment as some of my own naive answers to questions were dealt with in the course of my learning curve.
One blushing example, I had thought that small shopkeepers would still exist. (Cringe).
PartisanZParticipantI did my usual ‘worldsocialism‘ on my referendum paper. I would be amazed if any more than 100 party members did this going by the returns from Conference.
PartisanZParticipantThanks Darren for the update. Hardly an info dump. A valuable service provided and keeping missing articles and issues in a safe place for me to access for the website.

“The root is Leninism and Bolshevism”
This is the topic. Please stick to it. You have the luxury of other threads to indulge your criticisms.
PartisanZParticipantYes! The root of the problem is capitalism.
Agreed.
The rulers, presidents and capitalist need governments to tax the working class to pay the interest to their banks for fabricating national public debt money, i.e. $, euros, etc.
That is nonsense. Taxation is burden upon the profit extracting parasite class and what workers are paid for their commodity (labour-power), is the bottom line which is a rationed (waged) access to the wealth which only workers produce.
The means of exchange is largely irrelevant except within the context of the continuing maintenance of the production for profit social system in the interests of the parasitic capitalist class.
Our aim is the abolition of the wages system and all other priced access to the wealth which we workers collectively produce.
The capitalist class are a superfluous anachronism.
An advanced , post-capitalist society, run by us all, locally, regionally, globally, in administration over resources and not a government over people.
It is a market -free, money -free, production for use (not for sale), free access (not rationed access) commonly owned,(not private, corporate or state owned) revolutionary permanent break with the present capitalist one.
Yours is to continue it.
PartisanZParticipantIs it too late to prevent us from self-destructing? No, the GRB network is an ecological, economic network of shareholders who value the basis of our economy air, water, soil, plants, organisms and solar energy with the commodity-backed cryptocurrency, Eco (e) and not the product of labor valued by the state political economist Adam Smith. The eco currency solution to poverty and pollution provides everyone a secure, sufficient and sustainable eco income for life. Everyone is cordially invited to join the GRB network direct democratic eco-economy without countries, governments, politicians, nationalism, leaders, laws, banks, labor, debt, interest, tax, inflation, segregation, scarcity – economics, hunger, starvation, borders, tariffs, wars and climate change.
Labour is the source of all wealth creation allied to natural resources. Only a post-capitalist, production for use and free access society allied to the common ownership of the means of production and distribution will end this and enable an ecological and practical solution of the worlds inevitable twin concomitant problems of war and poverty.
A new crypto-currency will not do so.
PartisanZParticipantPartisanZParticipantThe links were a bit off-putting. I don’t know if this will be a bit better.
PartisanZParticipantCould it pay the bills for the upkeep of HO?
(What a head office in London too.)
Could it afford the expenses of election campaigns?
(What you actually fight elections.)
Could it spend money on the Summer School and other similar activities?
(What you have a Summer School with invited speakers and subsidies for members to attend.)
Could it maintain the Socialist Standard at the same high quality as you rightly describe it to be.
(Mainly voluntary activity apart from printing costs.)
You missed the internet presence online and activity and website kept going by voluntary activity mainly.
It seems to me to be a very vibrant and active organisation, responding as well as it can to changed demographic and generational circumstances and trying to put in place the necessary changes to enable sufficient outreach to continue growth well into the future.

PartisanZParticipantSorry about the few grammar spelling mistakes in the above post. I see the edit facility has just recently disappeared. Any ideas why?
It hasn’t. It only permitted edits for 20 minutes. I have adjusted it to 2 hours now.
