Mate I think you have to take into consideration maybe the mature age of most members and the attendant unfamiliarity with Internet technology as well as the small membership of the WSM which I imagine must be only about 500 worldwide. I hope it's more. Ironic that I should bemoan this when both of us are ex members. I should really get my finger out and rejoin.
Cheers mate. Feel a bit disingenuous coming on here sometimes cos I'm not even a member anymore! I know I am probably more likely to be kicked to death by a donkey than actually get anywhere near Brand at the Clyde Auditorium but I will give it a damn good try. Maybe I will write a good covering letter to add to the pressie I will prepare for him. Maybe instead of a huge emergency pack I should just try to get a Standard into his hands? Yet stranger things have happened. Mate I see Brand's Newsnight performance as just another of the indices of global cognitive change. First it was TZM then the emergence of Wikileaks followed by the "Arab Spring" and "Occupy" and now this. The counterpoint to all this is the continuing vomit of scandal after scandal. The latest of which is the current situation with the NSA. All of the cornerstones are crumbling at the edges. There are more and more online voices and groups which echo our position without even knowing of our existence (I know I shouldn't say "we" and "ours" when I'm no longer even a member but you get me right?). Semi positive statements even seem to be very gradually emerging from left wing circles. It's the Internet which has brought all of this on. Who knows when the spark might come. I think things could develop very quickly. Fuck knows! I just feel hope and I've felt this way for the past five year…
Instead of writing to him by snail mail why not go see one of his "Messiah Complex" shows? I'm going to see him here in Glasgow on Feb 17th. I'm going to do him an emergency pack. A mix tape, a spare copy of "Socialism or Your Money Back", a bar of tablet and a Standard all wrapped up as a present. Was thinking of doing the same with Peter Joseph when he was in London in the summer but he's a lost cause along with TZM. I am fuckin determined to get this package into Brands hands. A long shot but I might be able to wangle it. Fuck! who knows? Worth a try!
Could the party set up nationwide public meetings organised by every branch? something along the lines of "Was Russell Brand Right?" or "Russell Brand. Prophet or Poseur?" or "The Russell Brand Revolution" or something. I don't think the WSM have missed the boat on anything because this isn't going to go away. Capitalism is only going to get worse and eventually there will be a deafening cacophony of such Brandisms from other partly enlightened "Celebrities" as well as everyone else. This will crescendo into an avalanche.
I just watched it again. Ok at one point he starts going on about reforms but I would say he's 75% there. He just hasn't read a Standard yet. Maybe he never will. Bet all the pseudo Socialists wish they could get their hands on him. Last year I bumped into that arsepiece Billy Bragg on Sauchiehall St. I said "Improve your Standards of Socialism" and gave him an old Standard which happened to be in my bag. It was wasted on the cunt. Wish it had been Brand I had bumped into. Fuck I'd love to meet this guy. So would most members of the SWP though. Would like to think Brand would see through them. Sometimes I check out this website… http://www.vigilantcitizen.com which among other things investigates the recurring satanic meme currently running though popular culture. Yes this is deep conspiracy theory territory but much of the evidence seems compelling. I come away thinking "surely this shit can't be real". The conspiracists would say I'm thinking the way the masters want me to think because the "Illuminati" operate…by flinging everything glarlingly in our faces. I think there are more than a few true grains of truth in the whole conspiracy thing.BTW did anyone watch the documentary last week about the "Secret Life of Uri Geller"? That shit terrified me. What fuckin chance have we got?
Even if we delve into the realms of science fiction fantasy and imagine a scenario where humanity is on the brink of world revolution, the whole thing could go tits up with the action of just a few crazed workers. Working class self sabotage and pro-slavery could plunge the world into global nuclear conflict, mass viruses, chemical/bilogical hell or environmental apocalypse…even if we are at the precipice of making history. It only takes one fucked up worker in the right place to create a chain reaction. Think vast spy agencies, religious fanatics, cults, elite military squadrons and fundamentalists who for instance are currently bankrolling illegal Israeli settlements in order to hasten nuclear armageddon which they hope might bring on the "Rapture". A couple of years ago I read the US military were experimenting with warping the very fabric of space time by trying to create mini time loops and tiny black holes in their laboratories. What secrets do these bastards have in store for us and how many stupid prole cretins would be eager to carry out all of their orders? It only takes a few idiot workers to destroy everything. I hope I'm wrong but this is a very real possibility which may prove Carl Sagan right in the end. I'm sorry but I think we are fucked.
I enjoyed the first movie but I haven't seen the trailer for the sequel. I confess that I sometimes visit David Icke's website as well as Vigilant Citizen. One half of me thinks this shit is preposterous…but when I start looking into drone warfare, high ranking paedophilia, false flag events, vatican cover-ups, subliminal messages in music video's, movies and fashion magazines, royal largesse, heraldic symbolism and rumours of elite satanism as well as watching the utter lies in our TV schedules (not just in the news but in almost every programme) I begin to think some of this shit is fuckin real. Horribly real.
What really depresses me about the old bastard was that in effect she was born a member of the working class…having come from a background of small shopkeepers. That she re-invented herself as one of the worst enemies of her own class is all the more tragic and proof that given the opportunity most proles would trade places with the capitalists. They are thick as shit that's why…and now with the internet they are only getting thicker.

This is never going to happen is it? I think TZM are going nowhere at the moment. The initial buzz has dampened with traffic on the new TZM website about a tenth of what it was 5 years ago. They are a nebulous web based phenomena with no card carrying members. They are not organised politically, democratically or consciously.
