ParticipantI didn’t plan to post the above song at 11 o’ clock. That’s an amazing coincidence!

Nobody Needs your Love – Gene Pitney (written by Randy Newman)
This doesn’t sound like a Randy Newman song until Pitney sings: “Nobody needs your love more than I do.”

ParticipantCrazy Love by the Kez
I’m cheating with this one because they’re an amateur band, therefore, this wouldn’t be played on the radio.

Participant“In 2017 alone, [the U.S. military’s] CO2 emissions added up to 59 million tonnes – more than many industrialized nations including Sweden and Switzerland.”
And that’s just the U.S. military!

ParticipantClimate scientists say we only have a carbon dioxide budget of 250 billion tonnes to avoid the global average temperature being 1.5C above what it was in 1850. This is very concerning because it was previously thought to be 500 billion tonnes.
Seeing as how the world currently emits 40 billion tonnes of CO2 per year, at that rate, the 1.5C threshold will be breached by 2029.
The climate scientists also say the world could have until 2034 to reach net-zero CO2 emissions, provided it cuts 25 billion tonnes of CO2 per year, starting next year. Sadly, it’s almost impossible that capitalist society will do this.

Participant– No need to apologise, twc.
This is an amazing cover-version of the Bruce Cockburn song: Lovers in a Dangerous Time. It’s by my favourite band: Barenaked Ladies (a Canadian country-rock band).
It contains the excellent lyric: “Nothing in this world comes without some kind of fight. Got to kick at the darkness ’till it bleeds daylight.” Fingers crossed I will get away with publishing that one lyric.

I’ve never even been to the southern hemisphere! I was born in England & I’ve always lived in England (although, I might like to live in Italy, one day).
I discovered that wonderful performance from watching an episode of Top of the Pops ’91 (this one: https://thetvdb.com/series/top-of-the-pops-uk/episodes/5861434). That episode plays Bryan Adams’ Everything I do (I Do it For You) for the 17th/final time – they showed it once before it got to #1, which they surely must regret – I like that song, but THANK GOD THAT WAS THE LAST TIME!

It’ll be much more of the same thing
lots of trouble and
lots of strife’Good poem. The Anti-West-Left love to tell us that this cost of living crisis wouldn’t have happened if Corbyn had been prime minister. However, they (and us) should be grateful he didn’t become PM, because the crisis would still be happening, but the MSM would blame it on the left of Labour’s so-called socialist policies, thereby dragging the word ‘socialism’ through the mud even more.
