We may bring about socialism or we may not. But whatever we do or not do, we will do what we do.

The material conditions exist; the consciousness has yet to develop where most are concerned. If it happens, it could. If it doesn’t, it couldn’t.

    And you people ask:

Why our approach fails to appeal.

    https://groups.io/g/spopen/topic/why_our_approach_fails_to/93543234

    Seriously?

Blimey, ‘Austro-Bavarian’ eh, no wonder you can’t articulate what love is. How sad.

I jest. Austro-Bavarian, being one of several German dialects, is spoken rather than written. As far as love is concerned, suffice to say that to experience it is more than sufficient. Like ‘awe’ it can’t be satisfactorily articulated.

You do know that the phrase God Blind Me is the etymological root of Blimey. How quaint.

Lizzie45 Of course nobody can explain what awe is or what it feels like to experience it anymore than one can explain what it feels like to be in love which presumably you haven’t experienced either. How sad.

Wez But that’s all artists, poets and romantic novelists attempt to do ad nauseam. Perhaps you should pick up a book occasionally Lizzie.

I not only pick up plenty of books, Andrew, I read them too, both in ‘Austro-Bavarian’ and English. But as a scientist (with a specific interest in Astrophysics) I tend to steer clear of fictitious prose.

Personally, I don’t understand what “awe” is or what it feels like to experience it. Perhaps someone can explain but I doubt it can be done without being either poetic or pretentious.

OK. I’ll have to source your address first or, failing that, send it to No.52.

Found it! Bet you’re impressed. 🙂

I thought that, as a German-speaker, you might be able to contribute something useful to this thread. For instance, as which Reich the “Reichsbürger” consider they own allegiance to.

    Didn’t realise this was a quiz 🙂

However, my limited understanding is that the Reichsbürger (Citizens of the Reich) movement is made up of a number of small groups and individuals, located mainly in the states of Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Bavaria. They do not accept the legality of the Federal Republic of Germany’s government authorities. They refuse to pay taxes and have declared their own small ‘national territories’, which they call the ‘Second German Empire’, the ‘Free State of Prussia’ or the ‘Principality of Germania’.

Anyway, now you know my birthday you can send me a card.

OK. I’ll have to source your address first or, failing that, send it to No.52. X

Can I suggest a separate thread or even section on Trolls and Trolling where we can discuss the psychology and motivation of trolls, in general as well as particular ones, without derailing the discussion on other threads.

What a fabulous idea, Adam – guaranteed to open up a can of worms! 🙂

BTW, I see you have your very own Wikipedia entry. Quite amazing the amount of information that’s accessible these days – and it’s mostly in the public domain.

I am totally with Movimiento on this, even though I am English. Good manners have been depleted here since the 1980s, and what used to be loutish and vulgar is now mainstream.

Capitalism erodes and soils relationships between people, and the internet is seen as a safe outlet for frustration, rage, and vulgarity that would be swiftly met with face to face.

Tolerance and patience have considerably diminished, and universal contempt and animosity has intensified.

Learn some manners, Lizzie, and the same goes for True Imperialism.

You do not know me and I know how to answer back properly

I know more about you and your history, Marcos, than you could possibly imagine, so think twice before using misogynistic language on this forum…

That’s the real delusion – governments have borrowed from the 1% and you and I (and our children and grandchildren) will be paying off the interest on that for ever and a day – let alone the full amount.

How am I paying off any interest, Andrew? I’m not in employment so I’m not producing what you’d choose to call surplus value. The only regular outgoings I have, other than sustenance, are utility bills, transport costs and £32 Council Tax each month – money left over is mine to spend entirely as I please.

    I think you’re the one who’s deluded.

His Majesty’s Government today credited my council tax account to the tune of £30!

Doesn’t seem much. You can’t be working the system right. 🙁
I recently got two separate amounts totalling £253 credited to my account. Yay!
