Which Video? Vin is suggesting the party produces a video on the subject. The first step would be a democratically agreed statement as explained in Vin's Video herehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roJc5Ytu8LYOf course the statement could be produced by an appointed committee to speed things up. If we go through the EC then the issue may well have passed before the video is issued
lindanesocialistParticipantI deeply regret allowing Vin to reminisce with other comrades, regarding The Socialist Studies Group. Although I was there myself, Vin has a better memory of the occassion as he was very active at the time of the expulsions.I will not allow Vin to express his opinion via this account again.

Harry Young came up, too. He was invited to (the now) Sunderland University to talk on his experience of 1917. (Orgaised by my good self)When we approached the door of the meeting Harry was allowed in handed a glass of sherry and the door was slammed in our faces. I waited briefly for my comrade to come out and protest but the little shit didn't.You can guess how North east members voted on their expulsion..It was reported to members later that he had commented, 'Workers in the North East are only bothered about their beer and bingo" To which Steve Coleman replied " So what! Better than sitting reading Shakespear."They were an arrogant bunch
lindanesocialistParticipantSo can members question mods decisions or not without receiving warnings and suspensions ??http://www.worldsocialism.org/spgb/forum/website-technical/moderators-decision-cde-marattys-indefinite-forum-ban?page=16#comment-34598 Maybe it is simply Consistency that is required?

Just upload them as "unlisted" then only people who the URL is passed on to can view the video.Titling the video "DRAFT" would make things doubly clear. That seems the most practical solution. Thanks for that cde. It was mentioned sometime ago and I believe Comrade Poynton has pointed this out to the EC. Here is a helpful videohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rm3EMH3-H4cThe problem' with 'unlisted' will be passing the link from one member to another unless I am missing something
lindanesocialistParticipantThanks for that Mod1 and your suggestions. Maybe others can be added to the list and prioritised.I added number 6 because I think it is important to the average 'non-political' member of the working class. The mere mention of socialism and they fear their 'standard of living' will suffer to help the poor. They will have to share their money out etcBut there are many Myths we could cover. For my own part I think it needs to be humorous. Any comedy writers in the Party?
lindanesocialistParticipantWhat about a Video on WHAT SOCIALISM ISN'T,-Back to Barter-Sharing Money out-State ownership-Giving our money to poor and hungry people-Peace and Love-Taking your car and 50 in TV from you to feed the hungryetcI think these are the things that people think when Socialism is mentioned. Needs to be aimed at a broad audience. Nothing technical or theoritical but simple. Any ideas?

lindanesocialistParticipantBrian wrote:And what "sort of perspective" would that be, may I ask? Would it be to do with Vin failing to consult with the EC and thenusing the party logo without their permission. And finally not being bothered to send a recording of his efforts to the EC but deciding to put it out on Youtube to ask for comments? If he had not used the party logo and done his own thing just like the past effort with Paddy and co nobody would have anything to protest about. Until the party decide to produce professional video's that is the only sensible way to go.Minutes of the 4th Meeting of the 113th Executive CommitteeHeld at Head Office, Saturday, 2nd April 2016 2. September 15, 2016 at 10:07 pm in reply to: Moderators decision on Cde. Maratty’s indefinite forum ban #121394lindanesocialistParticipantVin has taken the advice of the OP and and a friendly comrade and written to the EC. We will see you all in a few monthsWe really need to speed up our democratic processes To the EC I had not realised that the EC had suspended me from the SPGB Party forum and this led to some confusion with the IC and Moderators . I request that the EC lift my ban and reinstate my account. I undertake to abide by the rules of the forum. May I also ask that the EC reconsiders my nomination as a member of the AV committee as I feel I have something to contribute to the party and our movement? September 15, 2016 at 12:08 pm in reply to: Moderators decision on Cde. Maratty’s indefinite forum ban #121392lindanesocialistParticipant? I am simply requesting clarification of the OP as are other members: Tim, Alan, SP et al. Where is the EC resolution banning Vin from the forum? If it doesn't exist, then we can end this farce. Instead of dragging it onIf it does exist then show it then we can move on from there? Comradely
lindanesocialistParticipantWell I can see no apologies from Brian AKA Mod1 for the accusation against Vin
September 14, 2016 at 8:28 pm in reply to: Moderators decision on Cde. Maratty’s indefinite forum ban #121390lindanesocialistParticipantI can see we will get no public explanations or answers to these questions. Can Mods stop sending emails to Vin. Anything you have to say can be said like good socialists: in the open. Remember? The basis of our case.?

September 14, 2016 at 11:36 am in reply to: Moderators decision on Cde. Maratty’s indefinite forum ban #121389lindanesocialistParticipantI have moved these questions to the relevant thread anf hope Mods understand why. Can we expect a reply to some of the questions raised earlier? moderator1 wrote:Neither really. The mods are saying they can't reinstate Vin with his suspension being passed by the IC to the EC. So it's now down to the EC to reinstate him. But the EC hand's are tied until they have a request from Vin to lift the appeal. If the EC orders the IC to reinstate Vin we'll do the business this end, no problem. But Vin has to approach the EC before we can do anything.Moderator2 wrote:The moderators have already confirmed an earlier decision to impose an indefinite suspension. We advised that if Cde. Maratty sought to have this suspension revoked, he had an avenue to do so – – to request that the EC over-rule the moderators. These are contradictoryMod1 is saying he would be willing to reinstate Vin but he needs EC permission. Whereas Mod2 is saying that Mods have made the decision and it will take EC decision, conference or party poll before HE will agree to reinstate.Which are we to be guided by?I think this is a straight forward and simple question. Who has imposed the ban, the mods or the EC. Where is the EC resolution? Another straight forward simple question is that Vin is constantly asked to 'follow procedures', which he is willing to do, but whose procedures?. Where is it written down or decided that a suspended member of the forum must seekEC absolution before being reinstate? These are genuine concerns as I am very confused about this and it should be easy for mods to clarifyIdeally, like Vin and Tim, I would like to see you get your heads together on these issues on an open thread on this forum. It would be a massive move in the right direction and remove any concerns members may have about how decisions are arrived at and what is taken into consideration when arriving at these decisions. One thing we all have in common is openness, right?
