I will do a post to support the EU election flyer, EU election manifesto and perhaps one for the 3 month sub to the standard. Just need a high enough quality image for them.

Amongst those I should probably post something a bit more infographic esque. Could be a meme used on the FB page , or perhaps and image that then links to a standard article. I think that’s a good idea.

Just so it doesn’t all look like chunks of text on each post.

Email any photos you’d like on there

I did one post to mirror the last FB post. Just in case someone sees it in the meantime, makes the page look more follow worthy.

A lot of work will need to be done to increase the pages visibility. But let me know what you think. Anything is subject to change at a click!!

There you go. Please bare in mind the limitations with the bio and the @ title. The @title and account name can be changed at one click. So let me know.

The even the name The Socialist Party (SPGB) is only done because you can’t fit “The Socialist Party of Great Britain”. I think the lesson learnt is the app forces you to be succinct.

The character limit is really narrow. I can’t include all of the object and principles or the who we are. I can put one in the bio , but we’d have to agree on what words to clip out

Alternatively I can put one short line of who we are, and then a link to see why we are so?

I have put a web link to the object and principles

How about I’ll put part of the object and principles in the bio (I can’t physically fit all of it) and work on the photo later

Best I can fit is “socialistpartyofgreatbritain” in the @

It’s set up. It hasn’t allowed me to put our declaration of principles in the bio, as it’s too long.

If anyone could get our principles photoshopped onto an image I could post that. Not on a laptop till tomorrow.

For now, I have put where we are standing in the EU election in it.

Will post a few images such as the one posted on FB today. And then try to get some followers!

Apparently “The Socialist Party of Great Britain” is too many characters for the account name.

Shall I go for The Socialist Party (GB), or drop the GB?

The @ (which is how the account is found) cannot accept “spgb”, it’s already used. So I could go for spgbofficial, or may try thesocialistpartygb? Could come up in more searches

    What do you think? James

Dave, I will get on with it asap then! Will send you a link to it once I have it. Will have to see if it’s set up differently to a personal account, and try to get a “tick” as well.

Will start by sharing a few things from the Facebook page probably.

Could also be a good platform to promote election results! I hear the Folkestone town council one went pretty well?

Good thing to have in the run up to the EU vote, which is arguably more “image” and “logo” based (being pr) than the nitty gritty of local elections

Well I suppose somebody would need to set up the account. I could do it , but guess it would need suggesting to the EC and then rubber stamping?

Would need to agree on the official name and logo.

Could then try to contact Instagram to get the official tick? Is this something you have done on Twitter etc?

Could then begin to share images, any photographs taken which can have captions with them. Can also be used to promote articles with a photo.

Also has a story function which could be used to remind people to vote, commemorate dates, share days and events where the party will be active.

Could even use the account to try and promote people engaging with the blog (even call outs for contributors, which editors can then assess), forum and the like ??

I think with a bit of help from other party members, and my partner (I will have to ask her, of course, but just from a platform support perspective). We could have it looking pretty slick. Le me know what you think.

That’s brilliant! Have you anything else planned?

I should hopefully be able to do some more leafletting another weekend.

I guess it’s just a question over whether this exploitation is included under wage slavery (as in, it’s work, it’s just unwaged) or whether it’s treated as a seperate source of value, metaphysically distanced from the production process

I suppose thats it, it isn’t just recognised labour time that contributes value to the social totality of exchange values , ultimately what capitalists realise as profit

I suppose the argument then is that there is labour time that is not recognised as “value”

Thereby the LTOV shouldn’t just be used to defend that value is only generated by labour in the production process
