America is no longer the obvious answer #119688J SurmanParticipantJ SurmanParticipantI posted this (link below) on the blog a couple of days ago, showing how capitalism distorts any attempts at sharing. There always has to be a business opportunity waiting in the wings.http://www.socialismoryourmoneyback.blogspot.com.tr/2015/06/capitalising-on-sharing-economy.html
J SurmanParticipantGreat work. Power to your elbows comrades!
J SurmanParticipant"Reference to a 'parasitic minority' could be used as 'hate speech'"Surely 'reference to a parasitic minority' would be simply a statement of fact?
J SurmanParticipantThanks Howard, I really relate to your message here. It certainly recognises the necessity of listening to one's 'audience', otherwise how on earth do we have a clue about what makes them different from anyone else, how do we approach all the medley of individuals we may come across? Horses for courses. Also I'd like to add that reading all the coverage each day regarding the hustings, whether from live meetings or written replies I am delighted, enthused and sincerely grateful to all the candidates who are doing a terrific job of presenting our party case. Thanks to all involved, front and back stage for your such positive contributions.Solidarity!
J SurmanParticipantSuch good news. Thanks for the feedback.
J SurmanParticipantThe election for parliamentary candidates is in June so i thought I'd update with some appropriate news from this part of the world."One of the major characteristics of Turkish politics is the official policy of distributing social assistance instead of investing strategically to reduce unemployment. Poor segments of society have become dependent upon cash and other assistance, and recipients of it inevitably vote for the ruling party. For the poor citizens, casting a vote once every four years in return for handouts is a good deal. Fear that the assistance will be terminated should another party come to power is a powerful inducement to vote for the Justice and Development Party (AKP)."The increasing sums involved throughout the AKP's tenure makes interesting reading further into the article:Read more: http://www.al-monitor.com/pulse/originals/2015/02/turkey-elections-harvesting-votes.html?utm_source=Al-Monitor+Newsletter+%5BEnglish%5D&utm_campaign=5ca55ff670-February_25_2015&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_28264b27a0-5ca55ff670-102332701#ixzz3SsLA8yuf
J SurmanParticipantI can’t watch videos, but have you seen this?Sorry, doesn’t work, waste of time!EDIT BY ADMIN: Does now
J SurmanParticipantThere's wages growth for some!Parasites In The WorkforcePosted by Janet Surman at 6:51 am Labels: earnings inequality 0 comments Statistics of inequality – UK: Workforce and Members of Parliament 2014 January: average annual earnings £26,500 2014 January: MPs' average basic earnings £67,000+ 2014 August to October: average earnings increase 1.6% 2015 New Year increase in MPs' earnings 9.26% Who really thinks they're worth it? Not us. Our aim is to get rid of the lot of them and abolish the wages system. We don't need leaders and we don't respect parasites.
J SurmanParticipantGlad it wasn't actually a link to a video which my limited band width doesn't allow, however I can't say it would tempt me to put a cross in a box for anyone! But neither would (even if tasty looking ) a guy masturbating in the hope of catching a few votes. I imagine a lot of folk would find this sexist, especially as this party is majority male members. Geddit?
J SurmanParticipantInteresting – no females yet?
J SurmanParticipantYoung Master Smeet wrote:The war in Syria is a political question, one without a military solution, and it is the political question the world must answer.Yes it's a political question. Trouble is the politics are all wrong and we're never going to agree with the status quo!For us it is not a case of taking sides, I'm sure we agree on this. Now to my point(s) – I don't believe the BBC to be one of the best sources, they're not good at 'balance in reporting', prefering to take the govt line generally so I suggest a look at the www. global research.ca site which has a comprehensive search facility. I looked at 'Syria' and 'axis of evil' and will just share this one from 2012 for now:http://www.globalresearch.ca/syrian-conflict-exposes-america-s-axis-of-evil/31867It's really all about western, ie US control over whichever/whatever part of the world they want to keep or gain control over either for resources or access to resources. The 'axis of evil' is a well known phrase but what it was/is has changed somewhat over the years depending on changing circumstances. Anyway the link above puts it more succinctly than I could.Re the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights I remember back to the early days of this conflict when I seem to remember the guy behind it was somewhat suspect so I had a brief search. It's not that informative but perhaps you can come up with something better.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syrian_Observatory_for_Human_Rights
J SurmanParticipantHas someone, or could someone duplicate this thread on spintcom/spopen, whichever is appropriate, to draw in more members and especially branches to the discussion?
