imposs1904ParticipantExcellent article by Robert Barltrop from 1971:Link The Permissive Society
imposs1904ParticipantTop notch article by Edgar Hardcastle from the January 1923 issue of the Socialist Standard.Link: Words and Deeds
imposs1904ParticipantIf your Dad likes political novels, I'd recommed Edward Gaitens' Dance of the Apprentices. (Published by Canongate)
imposs1904ParticipantOne of those six degrees of separation things but, before becoming a Trotskyist, Alex Acheson was a member of Harry Martin's Socialist Propaganda League. Maybe that partially explains his quoted words.
imposs1904ParticipantNice wee article from 1918:LINK: The Strong Man. (A Study.) (1918)

imposs1904ParticipantWelcome back to the forum. What's the name of the Korean show? There is a good chance it is on Hulu in the States.

imposs1904ParticipantLatter than promised. Peter Rollings June 1963 article:Link: Charity begins at work
imposs1904ParticipantI posted 'Man's degradation' on the blog back in August of last year:Link: 'Man's degradation'I didn't realise Rollings used a different name for articles posted in the Standard.I remember reading his review of The Monument (the unofficial history of the SPGB) which appeared in the now sadly defunct, New Society. I'd be happy to post that review on the blog if you have a copy of it knocking around.I'll scan in 'Charity begins at work' sometime tonight.
imposs1904ParticipantMy good deed for the day.I just scanned in the article from the June 1986 Socialist Standard that ALB mentions above, and can be read at the link posted below. Btw, the Peter Rollings mentioned in the article was a longstanding associate of H. Walsby who was an ex-member of the SPGB – from the 30s – who continued to have a political and philosophical interest in the SPGB decades after he left the Party.LINK: Socialist Party under attack
