ParticipantLizzie, what is it with you? Why are you so preoccupied with a Party you consider useless? Have you examined your motives? Is one of them that at bottom you’re attracted to or fascinated by the SPGB but unable to admit it to yourself (or to anyone else)?

ParticipantObviously good to hear this, Lizzie. But his prolonged imprisonement is just one of the many outrages capitalism commits each day. And that’s why we need to get rid of it and the sooner the better.

ParticipantJust read Phil Hamilton’s 2004 article on the 100 years of the SPGB (‘100 Years of Solitude’). Since then he’s hopped from one Lefist group to another and now has just left the Labour Party. And where has it all got him? Where have those like him got any of us? Some people never learn.

ParticipantLizzie, I just wanted to say that imagination is useful in all areas of life. If it’s true you’re an astrophysicist, you must know that. I just feel a bit sorry for people who lack it. They miss so much.

ParticipantDear Lizzie,
You say ‘bonkers’. But that’s the reaction the title was supposed to evoke with a view to getting people to read more. Of course if you’re just bent on carping, that’s fine. You’re perfectly entitled to. But it might be useful to leaven it with a bit of imagination.h.moss@swansea.ac.uk
ParticipantThe current Gen Sec wasn’t elected on a UCU Left (aka SWP) ticket. Their candidate came third in the election. She is ‘left leaning’, yes, but she’s also a bit more of a realist than the SWP squawkers, for whom strike action, whatever the outcome, is a victory in itself.
