The “precautionary principle” is a bit of a two edge sword, since not doing something is a form of action that has its own risks and possible unseen consequences. We have to have some kind of rational way of assessing risk. As far as I understand it the mainstream scientific consensus is that 5G poses no significant risk. So in this case evoking the precautionary principle is a non starter I would have thought.

We shouldn’t make the mistake of thinking  that Trump was the cause of right-wing populism in the USA.

I don’t think anyone thinks that. But equally, it’s a mistake to think that Trump’s victory hasn’t emboldened and enlarged the far-right in the USA or that his removal would have no effect on anything.

Lesser evil is still as evil.

Not always true. And if it was, voting for the lesser evil wouldn’t make any difference anyhow, so nothing lost. It’s like Pascal’s wager.

Really though, what I think is more important is what people do on the hundreds of other days when there is no election….

Simplistic moralizing doesn’t do anything either…

There is not any leader, or politician able to alter the economic base of any society

I agree, but there are other things that it is possible to be made worse and are important.

To be honest, in this situation if I were a US citizen, in the absence of a real socialist movement and party, I would be voting against Trump. It’s not a normal situation and I think it requires some mental gymnastics to think otherwise.

What those above figures don’t take into account though is the delay in getting the data and the fact that not all countries are starting from the same point in time, it’s comparing apples and oranges. We’re only at the beginning of this really..

Does anyone still seriously think that “Hilary would have done the same” now though?

Dave B. Why don’t you write in proper paragraphs? The formatting of your posts makes them difficult to read.

Below you will find regular, but not daily, updates on medical and political developments.

You’ve just copied and pasted all this from that “Swiss Propaganda Research” place. You should have really mentioned this.

The first known case of Covid 19 in Scotland was on 1st March, that’s not five weeks not five months.

Maybe that’s what all this phoney shit is leading to.

What’s phoney about it? Do you think all the people in the hospitals, morgues and mass graves are “crisis actors”?
