Socialists fighting in Australia know that Australia's recorded history goes well beyond 1788–in the histories and culture of First Nations peoples across the continent. We know that it was more than a "handful of Aborigines" here, though they were literally decimated by one of world history's most brutal and extensive genocides. And we know unequivocally that it was not "occupied without opposition"! The fight back against Western colonialism has been going since day dot, and it is a struggle to draw inspiration from–not casually erase from history. This article is absolutely wrong to make these glaring errors about Australia's colonial history. For more on how colonial capitalism and Indigenous struggle in Australia are linked, check out Solidarity, a socialist party working in Australia to tear apart the brutality of colonial capitalism: http://www.solidarity.net.au/aboriginal/capitalism-and-aboriginal-oppression/
