Last time I were in Coutts they came straight out and asked me if I advocated the abolition of the wages system. Boxed clever and told them ‘No’ (even though I do). Suckers!

LEW knows whereof he speaks. If I remember right he reviewed Paul Thomas’ Karl Marx and the Anarchists way back in the 1980’s. The book dealt with Marx’s dealings with Stirner, Proudhon and Bakunin. I think that review got LEW into a bit bother with the SPGB anarchists.
But it was a long time ago so the old memory might be letting me down.

My old dad was a member of the ILP. They were aggressively heterosexual. The wearing of sandals was considered suspicious!

You have not heard the economic calculation argument I take it.
What if people want the shabby and shoddy?

The poor man shall overcometh the rich man and shall be exaulted in the eyes of the Lord.
    2 Corinthians 13:4

    That makes Goddy a socialist.

There are roughly six hundred and twenty seven million people in central and south america. In that number there is just one socialist. And you have managed to lose him!

And it must be mortifying (but not surprising) to find the working class (the folk thinking and talking about politics) voting for the Raving Looney candidate rather than the socialist.

So the only thing protecting society from Mr More going berserk is a dodgy sciatic nerve.
You ought to let Lizzie take a look at that, she is a qualified physio.

Only unpleasant women complain of misogyny. Men dislike them not because they are women but because they are unpleasant.
Hylda Baker and Marilyn Monroe never complained of misogyny because men liked them (for different reasons of course).

Lizzie is quite right. If there were no laws what would prevent sadists like Mr More duffing people up for pure pleasure?

‘…I advocate free speech but I reserve the right to censor abuse’ (as defined by you?).
I’m not a racist but have you ever noticed?….

One wonders how many times this idea of creating money out of thin air has to be debunked. As Movimento notes, no sane banker or responsible treasury official takes it seriously. It isn’t taught in universities. It exists merely in the fevered imaginations of a few off-beam enthusiasts. Bless ’em.

Plenty of police would have been marshalling this demonstration. I suppose it would have been a bit awkward for you to approach a copper – one of these uncomradely social-catastrophes has lifted my iPhone, I demand you nick the lot of ’em!
Ironic really. The Chinese police know how to deal with the light-fingered.
There was a time when SPGBer’s attended demonstrations to let the demonstrators know they (the demonstrators) were wasting their time. Now the SPGB join in. Is there no party discipline?

The future looks to be a wee bit foggy if that graph(?) is anything to go by.’Doomster’.The name sort of gives it away. What is the difference between this joker and those fellows in days of yore who would tramp the streets carrying placards bearing the legend ‘Prepare To Meet Thy Doom’?
    They are online.
    Relax.There is no climate emergency.

If capitalism is the cause of war, why is it most south american capitalist nations manage to get along without resorting to arms every now and then? Most african armies are either clobbering the locals, fighting rebels or overthrowing the current regime. Wars between african states are rare. It is a minority of capitalist states who go to war, and it is usually the same ones.
Propertarians would argue that the truly capitalist way to capture a market is to provide a cheaper, better commodity. Gunboats are used by gangsters and racketeers.
You can scrutinise Marx’s economic writings until your eyes ache and you wont find the cause of war in them.
There is no difficulty in imaging capitalism without wars. War is not needed for capitalism to continue and progress.
