A joint bid Ukraine has made with Spain and Portugal to co-host the 2030 World Cup in a move that had been sanctioned by the country’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy.

Now, Andriy Pavelko, the president of the Ukraine FA, and Yuri Zapisotsky, the association’s general secretary, are accused of “embezzling” 26.5m Ukrainian Hryvnia (£600,000), related to the construction of an artificial grass factory.

YMS, I was under the impression that the wages bill and pensions were currently part of the aid programme to Ukraine, as in the case of the Palestinian Authority and Afghanistan

But as corruption was endemic before the war in Ukraine it means the opportunity to plunder the state treasury has grown even more possible.

TS – “Translation: I didn’t watch the video and choose instead to indulge my confirmation bias…”

That was indeed the lesson I was trying to give you by my recent links to various videos. You expressed your own problem very well, better than I could.

When one defers to the authority of others as we all have to do on this forum when it comes to understanding the military strategy and tactics of the war, the importance of qualification becomes paramount.

As a general rule, it is the preponderance of evidence we should heed and not go by the claims of the occasional aberrant out-lier. As Carl Sagan advised, extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.

Congressman Hakeem Jeffries is widely expected to lead the Democrats in the US House of Representatives and it has been greeted with delight by pro-Israel groups.

Jeffries maintains close ties to Aipac and other hardline pro-Israel lobby groups. One of them, Pro-Israel America, was his largest single donor over the past year, giving his campaign more than $213,000. Pro-Israel groups gave him $460,000 in total, second only to donations from the financial industry.

In 2020, Jeffries told the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (Aipac), that “back home in New York City we consider Jerusalem to be the sixth borough”.

Jeffries opposed a bill introduced last year by another party member, Betty McCollum, to ensure that the nearly $4bn in annual American military aid to Israel is not used to illegally annex Palestinian land, to demolish Arab homes and forcibly remove Palestinians, or to detain children in Israel’s military judicial system. Jeffries told Aipac that aid should continue with “no conditions”.

Your main prop for your analysis is a one-time middle-ranking officer whose last on-hand experience is almost a quarter of a century ago.

The views of the supreme commander of American forces in Europe up to 2018 and presently an advisor for a strategic studies think tank count for nothing to you because you are selective in acquiring only information that does not conflict with your bias.

    The Pope’s racism and bigotry

“Generally, the cruellest are perhaps those who are of Russia but are not of the Russian tradition, such as the Chechens, the Buryats and so on,” he said.

You will dismiss it as just fake propaganda but it possesses the same credibility as some of your own dubious sources

Obama once promised to put on his walking shoes and join strike picket-lines. Never happened.

    Biden presents himself as labor-friendly.

    Ain’t so

He has called for Congress to thwart rail-workers strike plans

Russian war aims have not been achieved.

SMO began in February or don’t you have a calendar?

De-Nazification has not been accomplished. Zelensky’s power has strengthened.

NATO influence has grown not lessened.

The separatist republics remain under threat. Now even Crimea is possibly at risk.

What fantasy are you in that the obvious is obscured for you?

A contingency is when you have prepared a Plan B in advance to implement if required. The Russian mobilisation according to their own media reports was chaotic.

    Apologies.

I see you have offered some sort of reply.

A lesson in deflection and diversion.
