I read somewhere, unsure if reliable, but hope so, that 50% of women leave the Catholic church. I'm sure many others are 'member's' in name only. This is represented in my own experience meeting various women and relatives, tho I tend to join atheist/humanist groups so see a disproportionate amount. What religions are supposedly attracting diverse peoples? Last I read there was an uptick in religiosity in Europe attributed to immigration, but that's all I've heard. I read the Catholics were heavy in Haiti, proseletyzing by their good works again. I told the Humanists we should copy the Catholic model to grow, but they said it wasn't ethical. Sheesh, no fun.

Certainly has been distorted, slandered? Libeled? Guess you can’t do that to an abstract, hmm, mischaracterized anyway just as communism was co-opted and now is equated with all that bloodshed. I think I’m really for communism, without centralization, but of course could never say that. So much bad press, almost no good press. And once you start considering it, you realize how much research is necessary because it’s so confusing, so much deceit and obfuscation, so many differing groups. I’m a researcher, but most people don’t want to or can’t do all that. Especially if the wrong choice gets you shot. And when you really consider it, it can be very frightening, knowing what we’d be up against. I think before now, it wouldn’t have been possible. You need almost instant communication and coordination to cover the whole populated globe, suddenly, simultaneously (or nearly). And most people think tribally. Even you, look how you referenced the Labour Party, which is only in your, granted powerful, but small neck of the woods. How many people think of no countries, even with Lennon’s song? I thought of it in my teens and never met anyone else before I was in my 40’s (other than the Hari Krishna’s). Granted, I was shy.O, I don’t know how many there may be of ‘us’ (I don’t’ know for sure who ‘us’ even is, but it’s mostly like you guys).  Anyway, once I started really thinking about it, I realized I don’t know what they are fighting for in the Middle East maybe socialism and I don’t know. By ‘they’ I mean the ‘rebels’ not Assad, U.S., Covert U.S, etc. (I KNOW what they’re fighting over). Maybe there have been several socialist uprisings in the last few years and I am unaware. They still keep us in the dark and separated somewhat. Like that we can be quashed. But mostly they just try to get people to dismiss out of hand. That’s not even addressing people who know they are opposed to it (till their loved ones get sick and they need help).I'm gonna put part of my answer elsewhere, just thought of something bugging me.

"Feminists obviously attract more female members than male, but also environmental groups and animal rights groups attract a more proportionate composition (reflective of current society) than other political groups." O, I'm gonna leave you guys and go join the fuzzy kitties group.

It's coming. You would not believe the variety of people who talk to me of socialism and revolt. I think they'll think I'm fringe radical. Heck no, they're right there along with me.

I take for granted my relative lack of prejudice and forget most others are not like me/us and am surprised when it pops up. Course, I' m not typical anything. No one's marketing demographic.Been thinking of the question tho. I can't do it justice, but one aspect most women would not be as involved in is the, pardon the phrase, "pissing contest". The war and aggression too,  in general. Though when I read Madeleine Albrights' autobiography , scary. I met a woman when involved with the democrats, she sincerely wanted the world ruled only by women. She scared me too.Belaboring the point too. We would have dropped that dialectic thread,  DAAAAYYS ago.Not to totally bash you, I'm so impressed by your compassion, courage, persistence, fortitude, intelligence, strength, critical thinking, patience with my lack of it.

I didn't think for a minute that, as a group (or probably individually) you discriminate in any way. "we are not sexists, " No doubt in my mind you aren't."Why that might be, is a question worth asking" I think so, but then I majored in sociology.  I just wondered. That's fine if it's "ephemera" to you. It matters to me.I know I couldn't have conceived of getting involved when my son was young, so that certainly plays a part.

There was a piece a year or 2 ago, I think in the Washington Post, will try to find, anyway, that pointed out that members of US Congress made 15% more than the average from their investments that year. They are all psychic perhaps. Maybe the men with goats experiments really worked.
