Is there a way that a search using http://www.worldsocialism.org could now bring us directly to this website, rather than taking us to the old website and having to click again to get here? I fear that a lot of potential visitors may fall at that initial hurdle. Also, the layout and quality of that site you are intially taken to is old fashioned and nowhere near as professional as this one and gives a poor image. Is there anything that can be done?

As it happens the .org website is getting a full facelift that should be unveiled in the next week or two. Most vistors come here as the result of search engine searchs so will not be landing on the home page first anyhow…

The short answer is to avoid using http://www.worldsocialism.org and instead use http://www.worldsocialism.org/spgb

Presumably, http://www.worldsocialism.org is doing exactly what it's supposed to do – representing the WSM as a whole. There are links in there to our companion parties as well as to ourselves.

It's a very small site with some introductory articles on socialism, links to companion parties, some WSM journals and a page of videos – that's about it..

It's also got stuff in other languages than English (which I don't think the /spgb site does, does it?):http://www.worldsocialism.org/othlang.php

There's still stuff in circulation with the http://www.worldsocialism.org address, so I'm glad it's getting a makeover as I can imagine that many people are put off by the old look of it or maybe are confused or can't be bothered to work out how to get to this site. If they actually clicked on some of the other country's sites they would be very put off indeed, I would say.

Yes, one of the improvments is that the foriegn language section is much more obvious and less buried away. Hopefully it will be up after the weekend. I'm almost done.

Looks good what I've seen of it and a vast improvement on the old site. One question.  The companion parties are listed but should there not also be a listing of the many other individual contacts around the world?

Excellent. Looks clean, un-cluttered. Simple, functional. Think the Publications page is weaker, 'tho. Could maybe benefit from some differentiation between the different journals? Sort of one long list at moment.

Type "what is capitalism?" into a google search engine and see what happens.
