I don’t think anyone has a problem with people choosing to form unisex sporting leagues.
Some people have a problem with trans-women being admitted into women leagues in that it goes against the point of wanting such leagues in the first place. I.e to compensate for the fact that people born male tend to be taller, heavier and have a higher muscle mass etc.
So you’re still thinking of sport as it is now: competitive and serious? Not just play and fun?
The first thing schools do is stifle natural play and replace it with regimented competitive sport.

I’m sure those who engage in “competitive and serious” sport get something out of it because it is competitive and serious that they wouldn’t if it was not. As to if people in the future would choose to organise sport in this way or not – I don’t really care!
P Abelard: are you a member? because you’re the only one here who sounds like one. absolutely agree with you about sports. it’s a problem of capitalism with its ethos of winning and achievement. this whole issue is grounded in capitalism and its stereotypes and expectations.
