PREVIOUS MINUTES/ERRORS & OMISSIONS/MOVE & ACCEPT:
Previous minutes read. No errors or omissions. C Matene moved the minutes be accepted, 2nd M Grayson, all in favour, previous minutes accepted.
DISCUSSION ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES:
1. T Lovatt moves that the WSPNZ revive the role of contact secretary, 2nd M Gribble. G Coffey is WSPNZ contact secretary for 2014.
MOTIONS OF WHICH NOTICE HAS BEEN GIVEN:
None.
CORRESPONDENCE INWARD & OUTWARD:
1. Email received from Robert Haszard – He received the WSPNZ election flyer.
2. Email received from Bruce Grenville – Suggestion to erect WSPNZ billboards for the 2014 elections.
3. Email received from Mike Ballard – From Western Australia, answered the WSPNZ online questionnaire.
4. Email received from the Socialist Party of Canada – Their newsletter for September received with thanks.
M Gribble moved the correspondence be accepted, 2nd C Matene.
RATIFICATION OF MEMBERSHIP FORMS:
None.
REPORTS OF SUB-COMMITTEES:
None.
TREASURER’S REPORT & ACCOUNTS TO BE PRESENTED:
Treasurer’s monthly report received and read. M Gribble moved the treasurer’s report be accepted and any outstanding accounts to be paid, 2nd C Matene, all in favour, treasurer’s report accepted.
LITERATURE SECRETARY’S REPORT:
Socialist Standards for this month have been posted to subscribers. Email received from Auckland University. All 2014 election leaflets have been delivered and handed out in Wellington.
NEW NOTICES OF MOTION:
None.
GENERAL BUSINESS:
1. Discussion about the ‘open mic night’ held by the skeptics society.
2. Discussion about ‘backbenches’ also known as politics in the pub, screens weekly on late night television live from a pub in Wellington. Consider attending one evening.
3. Delivery of election leaflet for 2014 is going well. Members have been handing out leaflets in public places and delivering leaflets to mailboxes. Send an election leaftlet to ‘Campbell Live’ and ‘Seven Sharp’, two of the main public broadcasting news shows in NZ on prime time television.
