    WORLD SOCIALIST PARTY (NEW ZEALAND) – Executive Committee Meeting

    Held via telephone at 51 Weymouth Road, Manurewa and 15 Tanera Crescent, Wellington

     

     

    DATE:                                    Sunday 5th February 2012.

     

    CHAIRPERSON:                 M Grayson.  Moved T Lovatt, 2nd C Matene.

     

    OPEN:                                   1:25pm.

     

    PRESENT:                             (Committee)    M Grayson, T Lovatt, V Lovatt, C Matene.

                                                    (Members)        G Coffey, J Ryder, R Watkins.

     

    APOLOGIES:                       A Coombs, M Gribble.

     

    PREVIOUS MINUTES/ERRORS & OMISSIONS:                     

     

    Minutes of January meeting were read out.  M Grayson moved the previous minutes be accepted as true and correct, C Matene 2nd, all present in favour, previous minutes accepted.

     

    DISCUSSION ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES:

     

    1.       Landline rates approximately $50 per month for line rental only, toll calls cost extra.  Internet service approximately $50 per month for broadband.  Calls from the Vodafone mobile network to fixed landlines cost 0.89₵ per minute on weekends.  Calls from the Vodafone mobile network to other mobile phones on the Vodafone network only $2 for 2 hours on weekends.  T Lovatt moved that the WSPNZ purchase a Vodafone mobile phone with simcard and send to literature secretary for EC meeting calls, 2nd C Matene, all present in favour, motion carried.

     

    CORRESPONDENCE:       

     

    1.       Email received from the Socialist Party of Canada.  Newsletter for February received.  WSPNZ general secretary to print and send copy of SPC newsletters to J Ryder.

    2.       M Grayson moved that the correspondence be accepted, 2nd C Matene, all in favour, correspondence accepted.

     

    LITERATURE SECRETARY’S REPORT:

     

    Socialist Standards for February have arrived and will be posted to subscribers along with Socialist Standards for January.

     

    TREASURER’S REPORT

     

    Treasurer’s report read by everyone present.  M Grayson moved that the treasurer’s report be accepted and for any outstanding accounts to be paid, 2nd C Matene, all in favour, treasurer’s report accepted.

     

    GENERAL BUSINESS:

     

    1.       General discussion ensued.  T Lovatt brought more music to upload to radio station.

     

    NEXT MEETING:                                Sunday 4th March 2012 starting at 1:15pm.

     

    CLOSED:                               1:40pm.
