MINUTES OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING NO. 141
Head Office, Sunday, July 6, 2014: Called to order: 6:00 PM
Present (Members): Binay Sarkar, Dipak Bhattacharya, Pradip Singha, Harisadhan Ghosh, Sumitra Mondal, Biswarup Chaudhury
Attendees: Gorachand Paramanik, Dipankar Roy, Raghunarayan Chaudhury, Barun Roy
Election: Chairperson: Biswarup Chaudhury; Minutes Writer: Dipak Bhattacharya
EC Minutes No. 140 was read and confirmed on motion of Harisadhan Ghosh and Pradip Singha.
Membership Application: In the mean time six new comrades have been admitted to the party membership: Subhojyoti Ghash (12/09/2007), Bigboy Musemwa (25/10/2008 – Zimbabwe), Harisadhan Ghosh (28/02/2010, Pradip Kumar Singha (28/02/2010), Biswarup Chaudhury (22/10/2012) and Dipak Kumar Bhattacharya (26/01/2013)
Note: Eventually, Subhojyoti Ghosh has to be dropped from Membership list for non-compliance with his own persistent commitments to submit his answers to the Questionnaire which is a compulsory pre-requisite for one’s admission to our party.

MINUTES OF THE 5TH MEETING OF THE 111TH EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE SOCIALIST PARTY OF GREAT BRITAIN HELD ON 3RD MAY 2014 – sent via email by alan johnstone

Letter of 10th May 2014 from Oliver Bond, General Secretary, Socialist Party of Great Britain expressing his pleasure to inform that the World Socialist Party of the United States (WSPUS) has voted unanimously in a referendum of their members in favour of the WSP(India) being re-admitted to the World Socialist Movement (WSM). He has also enclosed a copy of a letter from Kephas Mulenga of Zambia on the question.
Note: Already, in December 2013 the WSPNZ GAC resolved: “M Grayson moved that the World Socialist Party (India) be reinstated as members of the World Socialist Movement, 2nd M Gribble. All present in favour. Motion carried. Send email to The Socialist Party with the WSPNZ decision in favour of the WSP(India) being readmitted into the WSM.”
Outbound: Responses as required to incoming correspondence.
MSC: To receive and file incoming and to endorse outgoing correspondence.
Matters Arising:
MSC: This EC meeting is welcoming the decisions of the Companion parties of the World Socialist Movement with regard to re-admission of the WSP (I) to the WSM.
Reports of Executives and Committees: General Secretary has sent a reply enclosing the WSP (I)’s 09/10/2001 document to Kephas Mulenga both by post and by email refuting Kephas Mulenga’s claims – copies of which have been sent to all Companion Parties of the WSM.
Advancement of the Movement:
MSC: Resolved that we resume regular formal monthly meetings of the Executive Committee (with elected functionaries as declared in the party’s Annual Conference this year) henceforth.
EC discussed the issue of Gorachand Paramanik’s membership in the SPGB after re-admission of the WSP (India)’to the WSM. Gorachand Paramanik clarified that he has already taken up the question of transferring his membership with the SPGB but the SPGB is yet to take a decision on this because of preoccupation with the election matters. He has ratified that he intends to get his membership transferred from the SPGB to the WSP (I) and do the needful as early as possible. He has also agreed to send soft copies of his email correspondence in this regard to the WSP (I)’s email address.
Sunday Discussion: Regular capital study, discussion and interaction with other awakening groups and persons, criticism of all various ideologies and on specific questions about Leninist distortion of Marxism and socialist principles of organization are going on. Besides, the party held Public Meetings at Sonarpur Railway Station (21/02/06), near Shyambazar Metro Station (10/03/07), Esplanade near Metro Station (27/10/07) and Jadavpur (09/11/13)
Publication: Facebook postings by B. Sarkar and D. Bhattacharya are continuing. Harisadhan Ghosh is getting his socialist articles in Bengali published in various Bengali language newspapers, namely Bhorer Barta, Sakaler Barta, Akdin, Swastika, Swabhumi, Ajkal, Atandra, Khabar 365 Din, etc.

Literature: Party literature distribution is going on
Unfinished Business: None
New Business: As advised by the State Bank of India (as per RBI guidline) the party will have to close its Saving Bank Account and instead open a Current Account within 30 days from our receipt of the Bank’s “Final Notice”, which is being processed.
MSC: Report Accepted
Financial Report:
To close the WSP (India)’s S/B Account and to open a Current Account
– A motion was moved by B. Sarkar seconded by P. Singha and carried unanimously that the Party’s Savings Bank Account be closed, and instead, a Current Account be opened to be operated jointly by the General Secretary and the Treasurer (either or survivor)
Note: Presently elected: 1) General Secretary – Binay Chandra Sarkar and 2) Treasurer – Pradip Kumar Singha

Financial Report: From May 2007 to June 2014 was presented to the meeting
MSC: To accept the financial report and to receive donations with thanks.
