So you blame the whole working class for the action of one idiot? What sort of socialist comment is that?

One idiot? Two examples here, the second involving more than one binman.

The horror of being homeless is an important issue and thank you Thomas for drawing our attention to it. I think this thread would be better named “homelessness” instead of “Working class solidarity?”. [Although I’m a moderator I’m a novice so don’t know how to change the heading even if that’s possible.] My own take on the links posted by Thomas is that the council workers were just doing what they are paid to do, unfortunately. Idiots. And the actions of the McDonalds manager were rightly called out as unacceptable. Personally speaking, I think most people empathise with the homeless – “There but for the grace of god go I” kind of thing. Especially at this time of year, when it’s so cold wet windy and downright horrible outdoors.

The most eloquent and powerful description of homelessness i have read is by Dickens in his overlooked masterpiece (also a powerful indictment of capital punishment), Barnaby Rudge.
