Should Citizen Juries Choose America’s President, Congress, Governors and State Legislators?
Quote:there is another way to choose politicians that is in important regards far more democratic and much better. That way is for politicians to be chosen by juries of citizens drawn from the public by random selection. Such juries could number from 25 to 1,000 or more citizens, with larger juries being used for the most important offices..August 14, 2016 at 8:05 am #121191ALBKeymasterWhy not just choose the "politicians" (by which is presumably meant people to carry out certain administrative functions on behalf of a community, better a committee than a single person of course) "from the public by ransom selection", i.e by lot? In socialism of course. Under capitalism it doesn't matter who is chosen or how — they still have to apply the economic laws (the logic) of capitalism in the end.

There is not politician able to change or alter the economical base of the capitalist society.Left wing governments have promised to bring the moon to the earth, and at the end they has finished making alliance with the right wings and the capitalists, and voting against the workersThere is a new tendency around the world to blame the problems of our society on the politicians or their political party, both can be eliminated and the capitalist society will continue functioning on its economical law

But they certainly misjudged their power to influence and manipulate public opinion by surrendering decision-making to the people and having a referendum on the EU. We will still require elected administrations at various levels withing socialism, and although that process will be decided at the time by those living is a socialist world, they still require options on how to do so.Is discussing it in advance placing the horse before the cart? When we are a movement of millions. and not a couple of hundred where we struggle to get volunteers for party-work, we too may wish to experiment and implement methods of party democracy based upon random lottery of our members. Wasn't the appointment of the party "leader", a requirement of the electoral commission for registering, done by drawing a name out of a hat, an example where we ourselves exercised demarchy. If we can trust juries with life and death decisions over individuals, then can we apply the same principles to how to organise and run our daily affairs?
