“We don’t like samba”
During the run-up of the Brasilian football world cup many poor people where evicted from their homes in the favelas for ‘urban development’ in Sao Paolo. The documentary portrays their struggle for housing, a movement against an increase in bus prices, and a wildcat street cleaners’ strike. The music in this film is great, but it isn’t samba!
