Surprised we have no thread on UFOs or UAPs as we are now to call them.
Despite the recent blurry video from the American military, i’m still not at all convinced.
I’ll wait until one lands and the occupants emerge from their spacecraft to announce their arrival and does the rounds of chat-shows.
June 10, 2021 at 9:13 pm #219035ALBKeymasterI have called them UAPs for many years. It’s the proper description as that’s what they are — unidentified aerial phenomena, though in the end most of them do end up being identified of course. But the subject is so boring that I don’t even both to read the articles on them in the Skeptical Inquirer.

Another pretext to print more money for the Pentagon like Donald Reagan Stars Wars military program ( SDI ) which never worked. The UFO have been identified a long time ago, they are just military artifacts.
Some peoples have turned it into a religion and it produces great income and profits from magazines, speech and books.
The USA always has a threat from outside, even more, the small island of Grenada was a threat to the USA despite the fact that they have 10,000 atomic bombs and missiles.
The Gavilleros in the Caribbeans carrying machetes were a threat to the USA and they sent an invasion

I was immediately struck by the frequency of sightings by people who had just left the pub and were on their way home.
Posadas when he wasn’t promoting nuclear war to clear the way for socialism suggested that a civilisation capable of inter-galactic travel must have achieved a socialist society to accomplish it.
But the fact that some US politicians consider it a national security issue does reveal the paranoia they suffer from.

June 11, 2021 at 12:33 pm #219054rodshawParticipantOn the slightly related subject of space travel by humans, the view of space scientists like Brian Cox seems to be ‘we’re plundering and ruining the planet, let’s go into space to find another to plunder and ruin’.
June 11, 2021 at 8:17 pm #219063JamesMoirParticipantUFOs? if there were such phenomena then surely we would all know, namely, the size of their spaceships would be the giveaway. Wouldn’t they? The distances involved would take them light-years. Now, who can live that long?
June 11, 2021 at 9:50 pm #219066WezParticipantI recently sighted a UFO and asked on a neighborhood website if anyone else had seen it. The response was a mixture of comical indulgence and outright hostility. It suddenly occurred to me that many have had such sightings but choose not to speak about it for fear of the contemptuous response. As it turned out what I saw was the meteor that recently crashed into our planet and a lot of my ‘neighbours’ had to apologise for their contemptuous remarks. The whole episode reminded me of people’s response when they find out that I’m a socialist – pure contempt. The fear of the unknown is real and potent.
June 12, 2021 at 7:19 pm #219089AnonymousInactiveIf we eliminate capitalism and war we will not see any more UFO ( UAP ) The same minerals that we exist in the Earth, they also exist in space and that is going to be the future fight of the capitalist class, even more, some of them are claiming private ownership of the space. The definition of private private in law is down to the infinite of the earth, up to the infinite of the space, but some scientists have indicated that none of them are infinite

June 18, 2021 at 5:59 am #219216ALBKeymaster“Zecharia Sitchin, who studied at the London School of Economics, wrote his best seller, The 12th planet, based on his interpretation of ancient Sumerian text, which clearly reveals that humans were genetically engineered from homo erectus into homo sapiens as slave-workers for the aliens, referred to as ‘the Anunnaki’.”
Classic pseudoscience and pseudohistory. It is not just UAPs that need to be explained but also what motivates some people to believe this sort of stuff. And this one claims to be a socialist. As if we didn’t have a big enough cross to bear.
June 20, 2021 at 2:56 pm #219299AnonymousInactivePeoples leave one religion to take another religion, and UFO (UAP ) is one of them, classical religion have doctors in theology, and UAF has doctors in pseudosciences. Most of this alien thing negate the contribution made by men/women to mankind, society, culture and history, any socialist who advocates any one of this theory is negating the materialist conception of history and Anthropology.
