I agree, Alan. A pamphlet on nationalism is urgently needed, taking into account recent developments. I’m not averse to the idea of a pamphlet on Leninism and its offshoots, however – though I dont think this is a priority and to some extent the subject has been covered in other pamphlets. But the subject of nationalism has not really been adequately covered and in particular the question of why it continues to be so resilient. I think it was Thomas Nairn who said nationalism represents Marxism’s biggest theoretical failure or words to that effect. We need to better understand the menace of nationalism and where it come from in order to more effectively counter it…
