There is now information on the times and route of the march at https://www.tuc.org.uk/about-tuc/whats-happening-day including a map and:
12.00: Assemble Oxford Road from All Saints Park southwards
13.00: Opening rally
13.30: March through the city on a route that circles the Conference Centre, ending at Deansgate / Whitworth St for coach pick ups
All Saints is a small park-cum-square by the Manchester Metropolitan University campus, a 10-15 minute walk from the city centre. If members want to meet up somewhere, the Manchester Branch secretary suggests 12.00 at the northern edge of All Saints Park by the junction with Oxford Road (outside MMU's All Saints Building). Or just turn up when and where you like and start handing out literature. Bring as many leaflets etc as you like: we'll probably be able to distribute as much as we can carry.

Instead, either just turn up with leaflets etc, or else contact Paul B. to arrange to meet somewhere. The procession is due to form up from 12.00; music from 12.30; speeches from 1.00. The march is due to start at 1.30 and will follow the following route: down Oxford Road to Portland Street; turn right into Portland Street to the junction with Princess Street; turn left into Princess Street and follow until Albert Square; follow left around Albert Square to Southmill Street; bear right into Southmill Street to junction with Peter Street; turn right into Peter Street to junction with Deansgate; turn left into Deansgate to finish at junction with Liverpool Road. Comrades should probably station themselves anywhere along this route. Note that public transport in the city centre is likely to be disrupted.

October 4, 2015 at 6:59 pm #114222alanjjohnstoneKeymasterBBC reports that 60,000 took part in this demonstration. The comrades in Manchester certainly had their work cut out in trying to leaflet so many. Congrats to all who turned up and leafletted.

Before the police trained up their own snipers army snipers were invariably deployed. I suspect that when demo's are rerouted its because it has better vantage points.
