Well, they have been telling such tall tales since the one about the man who walked on water and when executed he returned to life and rose into the sky to heaven. They are still waiting for his return to give his followers ever-lasting eternal life. That claptrap has lasted 2000 years.
Some say it is the greatest every story told…or the biggest conspiracy there has been.

November 3, 2021 at 9:05 pm #223991AnonymousInactiveI have told many leftists that the Bolsheviks could have nominated Karl Marx as one of their commissar and he would have been forced to establish state capitalism due to the backward economical conditions of Russia, or he could have been one of the biggest opponent of the Bolsheviks, the Leninists and the so called workers state.
One of them told me that I was a fascist because I do not support the Soviet Union and I told him that there are two types of fascists: The fascists and the anti fascists, and I think I blew up one of his fuses in his head

In February, a letter came to light written by ex-undercover New York policeman Raymond Wood alleging the NYPD and FBI had covered up details of the assassination.

January 27, 2022 at 2:26 am #225908alanjjohnstoneKeymasterA related article of conspiracy theories
recent conspiratorial narratives about the Coronavirus pandemic use six rhetorical tools:
1) manipulating scientific evidence;
2) appealing to emotions;
3) referencing conspiracy theories unrelated to, for example, vaccination issues;
4) claiming that, for example, vaccines are unnatural practices;
5) invents negative benefit-risk ratio; and ultimately,
6) frames vaccination as an argument about freedom of choice.
Using those, the conspiratorial stories that are produced can be rather complex (fairy)-tales about secret identities, a mastermind, a covert plan, and about secret knowledge. Virtually, all conspiracy fantasies contain the classic story of an epic battle between Good and Evil. In Hollywood-style, they tell a simplistic hero vs. villain story. In the construction of such conspiracy fantasies, three elements can be found in nearly all conspiracy fantasies. Without those three elements, next to no conspiracy theory can be cooked up:
1) there needs to be an evil conspirator – the actor like Bill Gates during the Coronavirus pandemic, for example; next,
2) there also needs to be an evil plan – like the take-over of the world by big-pharma or the establishment of a Corona Dictatorship; and finally,
3) there needs to be an endeavor to maintain secrecy which means that most, if not all, actors of the Coronavirus pandemic (all universities, all medical doctors, all nurses, all health officials, the WHO, the CDC, numerous governments, the media, etc.) are all working together in the utmost secrecy to put their evil plan into reality.

We see the same with regard to international politics narratives. Conspiracy theories are fostered by a society that holds that everyone is a potential crook, out to get one over on others. This is the ideology of capitalism, which promotes such behaviour in the first place (school, sport, marketplace).

True but it’s more than just an ideology of course. This view is a reflection of the real situation, i.e, in the case of international relations, competition between states to further the economic interests of their ruling capitalist class, which brings them into conflict with each other over sources of raw materials, trade routes, markets and investment outlets as well as over strategic points and areas to protect or secure these. Also, to a certain extent, in everyday life where everybody has to acquire money to survive, which brings them into competition with others over jobs and some to try to get one over on others — though here, in contrast to inter-state relations, this is countered by the fact that humans are social animals.

January 27, 2022 at 8:26 pm #225927AnonymousInactiveI just finished the translation of a good article published by the Socialist Party, it does explain very well everything about conspiracy theories and why they are florishing in our time, it is short and concise, but it does hit the nail on the head, and it is titled: Conspiracy theory vs socialist logic
January 27, 2022 at 11:41 pm #225938AnonymousInactiveThe most popular conspiracy theories are the ones based on the assassination of JFK, I came to the conclusion after I read several books that he was the real conspiracy. The second ones are the ones based on 9/11, the conclusion is that it was Terrorism versus terrorism nothing else. I have never seen any conspiracy theory blaming China or the Soviet Union, they are all blaming the USA, the Jews and the so called Deep state. It is clear that they are jut competition among ruling class using some inocent “peoples” to spread their own capitalist interests

Likewise, I have read much on the assassination and I reach a conclusion that LHO did so alone without the assistance or guidance or urging of any other accomplice.
In modern times, I view the WMD claims for the justification of the invasion of Iraq to be a conspiracy rather than mere propaganda that were eventually found out.
Whether the lab leak claims or food market jump from animal to human for the Covid virus is definitively disproved or not, I am not confident of. Bur regardless, the claims it was an engineered bi-weapon has been scientifically rejected but it has not stopped the theory from circulating.
