The right of the Labour Party did not oppose Corbyn because they were afraid of losing their seats. On the contrary, they did everything they could to prevent their own party from winning those two general elections Corbyn was leader (2017 & ’19).
As Comrade Alton rightly states earlier in the piece, it was because he did not exhibit unequivocal loyalty to the British state or its allies.
