Just looking through the DM and read this.
Headline: Families face a holiday ‘nightmare’ as hard-Left union threatens Heathrow strike during February half-term
Hard-line Left-winger Sharon Graham was the surprise winner of the Unite leadership election to replace the retiring ‘Red Len’ McCluskey last year.
Graham’s campaign, which was backed by the Socialist Workers Party and the Socialist Party, saw her take almost 5,000 more votes than her nearest rival.
We get a right of reply?

January 30, 2022 at 8:33 pm #226007ALBKeymasterThem stealing our name is a cross we have to bear. That does mean that we should let them get away with it by calling ourselves all the time “SPGB” or “The Socialist Party of Great Britain”. We are the Socialist Party.

March 6, 2022 at 11:25 am #227373ALBKeymasterWith the war in Ukraine we have overlooked that there was a by-election in Birmingham last Thursday. Not surprisingly really, SPEW have taken to opposing Labour Party candidates again. In this by-election they put up former Labour Party MP Dave Nellist who, standing as TUSC, finished first of the also rans (which includes the LibDems and the Greens). In a low turnout he got 360 votes or 2.1%.
March 6, 2022 at 6:44 pm #227382alanjjohnstoneKeymasterNellist received support from the Breakthrough Party, the Northern Independence Party and Left Unity, who joined the TUSC on 20 January 2022 in the PAL – People’s Alliance of the Left.
All new to me

I think it has been done twice
August 27, 2023 at 1:43 pm #246318ALBKeymasterI see SPEW, through their front organisation TUSC, are thinking of contesting the Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election. But so is the “Scottish Socialist Party” (of Tommy Sheridan fame), another product of the old Militant Tendency. I wonder whether in the end they will agree on a single Trotskyite candidate.

Have you been on the Buckfast wine, ALB?
That would need Trotskyists to come together in agreement!
If they did though, they could ride into town on a unicorn and get mermaids to swim up the Clyde and do a bit of syncronised swimming in Strathclyde Loch.
As they used to say, one Trot equals a tendency, two Trots equals a party, three Trots equals a split.
