I went out to rally against Trump in NYC last night and – after a day of sorrow – I had the time of my life chanting next to likeminded people who were there to attempt to make a change.

Do you guys think there's actually a chance that an american socialist party could succeed in creating a party for the 99% percent?

Here's a video from the rally if anyone is interested:

Hi Jose Ria it is heartening to hear that people in the US are actively seeking out Socialist ideas. Yes, we do think there is a chance that an American Socialist Party can exist, which has the interest of the 99%, as you put it so eloquently, as its aim. We actually think that such a Party already exists, ironically this year is the centenary of its founding by our American comrades. The party I refer to is the World Socialist Party of the USA. It is a companion Party of the Socialist Party of Great Britain and of the other parties of the World Socialist Movement. We are not a movement based on electing leaders to rule over us, or a movement based on trying to reform a system of society that favours the tiny minority over the vast majority. We genuinely hope that people like you and those you mention, develop an understanding of the vital need to to build a political movement which is based on genuine Socialist principles working to create a world where all of is can enjoy free access to all of the wealth we all produce. I hope that you find find the World Socialist Movement an asset in the development of these ideas and that you agree with our principles and practice and join our movement, working to overthrow the barbaric system of class rule and poverty we currently endure.Yours for Socialism Tim

The WSPUS does not want to replace one leader for another leader. The Socialist Party wants to replace capitalism with socialism. Our struggle is not against presidents or leaders, our struggle is against the system of profits and wage slavery

The  third party has  existed for almost one hundred years. When politicians and newsman talk about a third party in the USA, they are talking about another capitalist party which will not differentiate itself  from  the others two traditional parties that already exist. In the USA there are many so called socialists and communists groups, but their main objective is to establish the so called socialist state, a term that contradicts the principles of socialism-communism, and they are proponent of state capitalism, or to run capitalism in the name of the working class

It is the dictatorship of a single political party split in two capitalist political front, in the  so called Banana Republics peoples have more participation and they have more  political varieties. The rest is just fairy tales. It can be called a vanguard party too. Most democratic leaders are already offering help and collaboration to Donald Trump. Pure bourgeois conciliation. Both have had the same political platform, even more, at the very beginning the Republican Party was the party of" anti-slavery", and it was the party of Abraham Lincoln.During the 60 there were public  signs in the South and  Florida who read: No Blacks, No Mexican, No Cubans, No Dogs, and both supported the inter-racial marriage as  a crime, and many others racist laws. http://babalublog.com/wpr/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/nodogs.jpg

Does the world socialist party of the USA own the means of production for creating conversation and discussions?  if so send me their links.  I'm only here because you guys own the means of production for some good ideas.  But if they own that means of production, I'd probably be happier freely associating with them instead of SPGB.  Doesn't seem like SPGB wants to produce the kind of discussions I want to produce.

Well, the WSPUS and the SPGB both are guided by the same political-economical-social principles, the only difference is the geographic location, both are companion parties of the World Socialist Movement. I do not understand what do you mean by owning the means of production, I think that you should clarify that term, because we do not own the means of production, our aim is that the world working class should administer democratilly the means of producction

Thanks for your reply mcolme1. I think that was worth my time reading and appreciate your time put into it.  the means of production I need are dependent on the product I'm producing of course, as I think you would agree. I'm producing a new concept for economic exchange based loosly on the principles of socialism.  Socialist and communist just have a ton of great ideas for exchange principles in the abastract that I need to produce this exchange system and confirm it's suitability.  The means I need to produce this product are access to the attention, time, knowledge, wisdom, and suggestions of certain people with specialized skills and knowledge and worldviews needed in the production process. If WSPUS shares the ideas of SPGB closely then I only need one of them and would choose the most effective group as the means for my production.  Does WSPUS have larger membership or more informed membership or more open minded membership or more engaged membership?  If so I should be better off using WSPUS for my means of production assuming they are not private property and I'm not excluded from their use.  Ideally, there's more value to me if I find another group that is as appposed to SPGB in a lot of ways and has different opinions and worldview.  But I still need to knowledge about socialism and communism and co-production, so I can't just go to a capitalist discussion forum like the wall street journal discussion board because that's not going to produce any value for me.  So I'm looking for something slightly different from SPGB but not completely different.  the more diverse my source of information and knowledge is the better the results of my production proces will be, but getting information and knowledge components needed for my idea does constrain my choices somewhat.  for example, if I were building a car I might want a large variety of steel manufactures for production needs, but wouldn't be looking for groceries and produce manufacturers who grow crops to produce food.  Any suggestions?  I think you would judge the other groups I'm looking for as "people who hijack or misrepresent socialism".  So your worst/best frenimy group (friend and enimy at the same time grouip) is the people I probably need to get ideas from.  in capitalist terminolgy I  think they would be called your indirect competitor for the minds and hearts of the people.  maybe you know some large group of intellectual socialist imposters who love surveys?  That would be a great place for me to mine for ideas and exchange value with.  can you give me the means and ability (a link and short description is all I need) to produce my idea?  p.s. in exchange for your time and link and short description, I'll offer you an exchange agreement for me to stop bothering you and and SPGB so much. Instead I'll bother your socialist imposters with my surveys and questions.  I think that might have value to you.  this exchange agreement is dependent on me as sole judge making a determination after 1 hour effort and investigation into your link.  And I need to determine that the link suggestion you provide is a suitable resource for my production needs.  I'll report back ot you on my determination if you ask, but I'm assuming me just disapearing from your attention will be suffiecient.  Also depending on suitability I might just marginally decrease my time spent here in discusions and since I only have a limited number of hours each day on this project, I invoke a natural law of limited supply of my time for determining the precise exchange rate for your link value and my change in bahavior for you're benefit. in plain language I'll be too busy bothering them to bother you and that's a natural law that is above question.  So my exchange offer in this paragraph is enforced by nature and intended to formalize the natural law into language for better understanding.  You may also propose an alternative exchange agreement that I will consider if that's in your interest.

Why do you always try to shift the real content of any message toward empty argumentation ?  The question was not directed to you, it was to the original poster who has a sincere desires to fight for a new society. What you have described has nothing to do with means of production, they are related to factories, lands, tools, means of distributions, etc, etc, etc, and they are in the hands of the capitalist class, and those means of productions are used to produce profits using the labors of the human beings. The WSPUS and all the companion parties of the WSM at the present have much  better and deeper issues to deal with than to waste their time with survey and postcards, and bourgeois jargons.
