One of those six degrees of separation things but, before becoming a Trotskyist, Alex Acheson was a member of Harry Martin's Socialist Propaganda League. Maybe that partially explains his quoted words.

The argument is to show that there were not difference between the Soviet Union and the other capitalist powers, and before the Soviet started to kill human beings, the others capitalist powers had already killed millions of peoples, and during the period of the Cold War both blocks had the same objective and purposes. There were not any ideological differences among them, it was just an economical and geopolitical struggle, and the same analysis can be applied to World War II.
no difference between the ussr and the usa? hahaha good one
March 20, 2017 at 12:26 am #125763alanjjohnstoneKeymasterI think it was ALB who drew my attention to the old Cold War and this new Cold War in that it exposes the myth that there was some sort of deep-rooted ideological differences between the USA and the Soviet Union, in the pastIn fact, what's happening now reveals that the rivalry has always been about conflicting geo-political strategies which can go back as far as Tsarist Russia V. The West, nothing very much to do with economic theories.Just as religion provided a convenient cloak to disguise motives, the US and USSR, played out their Free Enterprise V. State Communism to minimise all the similarities.

You did not get again, it is very difficult for you to understand political principles. The above captioned message is about capitalist powers, or capitalist bloc, it is not talking about a single country, or a duality. A bloc was formed by differents countries in different regions around the world, the bloc headed by the Soviet Union was compossed of several countries of Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America ( that is reason why the USA had a bloody war in Central America, and coups against nationalists ) and the other bloc headed by the USA was compossed of Western Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America, and that division of the world took place with the Postdam treaty, and each one were fighting for their own spheres of influences, even more, the Chinese created three bloc under the so called Theory of the Three world, and there were also division among those bloc such as the case of China and Albania which moved away from the Soviet Union, and then Albania moved away from China, and they creted their own bloc, called the Albanian tendency, Cuba and North Korea are part of that struggle, it is not a struggle for freedom, they were part of their own spheres of influences, they were expert splitting countries in piecesAll those bloc had their own labels, one was called the communist world, the socialist bloc, the socialist countries, others claimed that their were the real socialist scountries, such as China and Albania, and then Albania took their own exclusivility, they broke rellationship with all of them, They formed their own millitary bloc known as the Varsovia Pact and NATO, they had their own charity bloc such as the Comecom, the Alliance for Progress, the Peace Corps, the support coups in different country, both placed and removed their own dictators, they have their own spying organizations., such as CIA and KGB, and G2, Mossad, It is not so superficial. We have an article named: All the dictators have been friends and allied of the capitalist powersThe other bloc called itself the free world, the anti-communist world, the freedom fighters, ( they called the other side the iron curtain ) and within them, there were differences too, and they signed treaty and alliances, now, within all those bloc there were not any ideological differences because all of them were guided by the same logic, by the same economical law which is the law of capital, the production of profits or surplus value from the labour of the workers, and that is the part that you do not understand due to the brainwashing effected during the cold war in both sides, it is just a struggle for territory and conquering of raw materials to produce profits, and each bloc claimed their own sainthood, but in essence they were all the same, the only difference was in the form, even more, the capitalist countries of the west front tried to offer to their workers certain social benefits because the others bloc had better social benefits for the workers, that is reason why Roosevelt and others goverment of the USA implemented some programs like Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, and Disability, Unemployment insurance. There is also a new cold war that is emerging around the world with the same situation, there are not ideological differences among them, those are struggles for geopolitical ambition, and each one had their own excuses, and one or two are using religion as the excuse, and others are using terrorism as an excuse too, when they are the real terrorist, and they do not care anything about religion either

This is what he wrote in another message regarding the ideological difference between the Soviet Union and the USA"no difference between the ussr and the usa? hahaha good one"Now, he sounds like a faithful follower of Donald Trump, he is backing up, or he does not have a proper answer. It is not the same thing to call the devil and see him coming
