We held a debate last night with the blogger John Gray.

There were 15 present, with six visitors (including the speakers). One of the
visitors identified himself as an Anarcho-Syndicalist (from the NUJ).

The question as “Should trade unionists support the labour party” — John Gray
spoke about his background, and gave a plea for supporting the labour party as
the best vehicle for achieving the ends of trade unionism. Bill Martin replied
saying that unemployment meant inequality, and capitalism requires unemployment
and inequality in order to exist. A general debate followed (lasting nearly an
    hour).

    Bill M.
