I used to prefer RT for many reasons, but they made fools of all of us ridiculing the West’s narrative by doing exactly what Biden and Blinken were warning. Despite the West’s hypocrisy and propaganda, the fact remains they, the Russian military machine, are slaughtering people with high explosives. Zelensky should surrender to save lives, but I can’t trust a word Lavrov says, whose propaganda is cruder and far less subtle, so as to be preposterous.
True or false, it looks as though the West is now looking for an excuse to intervene militarily:
Before the invasion, Lavrov was saying there were points Russia and NATO could address, such as removing missiles from the borders, but now more missiles are being sent to Poland.

The break up of Yugoslavia and the Balkan war is totally forgotten about, Europe engaged in ethnic cleansing and according to the international courts, genocide.

And as for Russian atrocities, risings in East Germany, Hungary and Czechoslovakia crushed with tanks. Not to mention Chechen war and the Georgian war.

I don’t see how that makes sense. Without playing at armchair generals, it seems to me that Nato’s best play is probably to hang back, surreptitiously (or not) continue to arm Ukraine, and hope Russia exhausts its economy and resources fighting another 20-year Afghanistan bloodbath. Meanwhile Venezuela and Iran will be swiftly rehabilitated and brought back on-board as suppliers. All that would knock Russia out as a global competitor more surely than a hot and very risky war. For the scenario to play out, western governments just need to keep the jingoism shrill to encourage the Ukrainians to commit mass suicide, which Zelensky seems to have every intention of making happen.

I do not think that NATO is going into a war with Russia, they do not have to do that, and they do not intend to do that either, even more, Russia is not in any economic conditions to start a world war, they are requesting aeroplanes parts to china and they have refused to provide the parts
The USA has refused to create a no-fly zone and they have rejected to provide aeroplanes to Ukraine because they know that it might create a bigger confrontation and it is also a declaration of war.
At the present time, there are some negotiations taking place between the government of the USA and Venezuela in order to lift the oil embargo, even more, two US prisoners were released by the Venezuelan government. Cuba did the same thing with Obama before opening a diplomatic relationship
Russia is not going to establish any military base in Venezuela or Cuba either, because for them it is more beneficial to establish a relationship with the USA and also the USA government is trying to reactivate the agreements that Cuba made with the government of Obama
There is too much atomic war histeria in this forum, and that is not going to take place at this time, even more, until now Russia has not launched a full scale invasion as it was said at the very beginning

Both sides are lying and both sides have done the same atrocities. We can not even trust the so called independent news either, as well there are many leftiwngs organizations that are supporting this war and this killing. We are the only one who is taking a rational and correct stand, as we have always done in the past

As for the war widening, I don’t think we can discount the possibility. Let’s not forget that most here never thought a Russian invasion would actually happen and we were proved wrong. We thought the statesmen were going to act rationally. Russians weighing up the consequences of an attack and NATO understanding their concerns and reaching a compromise with some concessions. Zelenskyy certainly seeks the active participation of NATO. He wants the war to spill-over. Something in their adulation of him that the media refuses to acknowledge.
He is justifying such intervention on humanitarian grounds, so each and every atrocity by the Russian against civilians is made headline news.
So far his requests have been sensibly denied.
But what if Russia is foolish enough to use chemical weapons as it has in Syria and it is verified?
There is also such a thing as mission creep, the unintended escalation of involvement from events. Again NATO has avoided such entanglements. But if military supplies continue to arrive overland, can there be the risk of a border skirmish?
Paddy is right. We should be cautious of being members of the Chairbourne Division and that also means not dismissing the threat of the war spreading as a remote one.

And a European war does not necessarily mean a nuclear exchange. Gas warfare was never used in WW2 despite well-founded fears it could be and the ability to conduct such.
We said that a wide scale invasion was not going to take place, and it has not taken place yet either. They are shooting missiles from a remote location
