The modern Makhnovists are condemning both sides.
November 9, 2022 at 5:00 pm #235909ALBKeymasterWho are the “modern Makhnovists”? Good on them if they are.
November 9, 2022 at 5:57 pm #235912alanjjohnstoneKeymasterThere were about 80,000 foreign students studying in Ukraine at the time of the invasion, many from Africa and Asia, regions where there are fewer anti-Russian sentiments. Yet most followed the exodus to the West.
Why did they not travel to Russia?
Did Russia ever offer an opportunity to continue their studies at Russian universities?
November 9, 2022 at 6:06 pm #235913alanjjohnstoneKeymasterAs mentioned above by Wez, information is hard to come by about the progress of the war. Often it is reading between the lines of either side’s propaganda.
I have no idea if the supposed Russian withdrawal from Kherson is part of a grand plan or not. But within Russia, an open letter from Russian troops has been circulated

Oh Weazel, wrong as always. Patrick Lancaster is independent, Eva Bartlett is independent, John Mark Dougan is independent, Graham Phillips is independent, Alina Lipp is independent and there are plenty of others. You’re like a 5 year old who thinks if they close their eyes the world blinks out of existence. Just because you don’t know of something Weazel, doesn’t mean it ain’t so. Lol
(Weazel as in “weasel words”, I don’t wish to cause any offence to weasels.)

Erm, I call “bullshit”. You are the most credulous bunch of media consumers I’ve ever met. Guardian Bros of the world, unite!

Alan, my screen name is being punned with. Now, I don’t mind as I’m very happy to play that game but you’ve stated very clearly it’s against the rules. So, what’s it going to be?
November 10, 2022 at 12:08 am #235921alanjjohnstoneKeymasterModerator Notice
I do not find the intended pun to be personally offensive or abusive under Rule 7
7. You are free to express your views candidly and forcefully provided you remain civil. Do not use the forums to send abuse, threats, personal insults or attacks, or purposely inflammatory remarks (trolling). Do not respond to such messages.
Previous complaints about puns were that they were derogatory and disrespectful, not that the screen name was subject to word-play.
On this occasion, I think it is fair comment as has been disparaging name-calling for those who use the Guardian as a source or RT.
November 10, 2022 at 12:37 am #235922alanjjohnstoneKeymasterOf two reliable independent reporters cited which of them do we believe?
Phillips calls Lancaster an “illiterate, grifting charlatan, with a journalistic acumen and ability lower than a potted plant.”

Vice website itself has a bias but is its reporting on this accurate?

So you expect that they should head toward battle lines to continue their studies? Lol.
At any rate, the students would have been treated much better if they had chosen to enter Russia. Nazis aren’t very kind to those with considerable melanin.

Lol, Vice. Hipster neo-con, Murdoch lackeys. I think I’ll start calling you “All-in” now Alan as you’re All-in with the bourgeois narrative producers. Bravo!

Weazel, why are you surprised that you’re wrong? That’s the rule not the exception as far as you and the Socialist Posers Guardian Bros are concerned.

November 10, 2022 at 1:34 am #235932alanjjohnstoneKeymasterPerhaps this other website report quoting journalists who have worked with Lancaster can be considered corroborating evidence of his unreliability.
David Ferris, an American filmmaker and writer, “I remember [Patrick] sort of being compromised from the beginning,”
