“But there’s no depth to discuss with TS, because he is following an ideology, unlike us.”

Rubbish. Your ideology is liberalism couched in pseudo-leftist rhetoric. But at the end of the day, garden variety liberalism. Go on, link to another Guardian of BBC article. I just can’t wait to hear the real dope.

    TM – FYI

The straw man fallacy occurs in the following pattern of argument:

    Person 1 asserts proposition X.
Person 2 argues against a superficially similar proposition Y, falsely, as if an argument against Y were an argument against X.

This reasoning is a fallacy of relevance: it fails to address the proposition in question by misrepresenting the opposing position.

    So for example

I ask ”Do you approve of Putin’s discriminatory stance towards non heterosexual people or not?”

You respond by saying “there are no laws against no laws against homosexuality in the RF”.

Can you see what you did there, you changed discriminitory stance, to laws. Classic straw man.

    Watch and learn wee man.

No doubt it will be described as a CIA front but this Rational Wiki is a useful description of what we are facing.

    https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Stalin_apologetics

“But my question was why did the Communist Party oppose the war from 1939 – 1941 when several European nations had been attacked, invaded and occupied.”

TS responds “Why should the Soviets have gone to their rescue?”

Perhaps I did not make myself clear. I was referring to the CPGB, not the Soviet Union.

Until 1941, the CPGB took a very similar anti-war position as the SPGB of opposing a war against the Nazis.
(as an aside on a personal note, co-worker of mine’s father was put in jail as a CO for following the Party-line of the CP)

An imperialist war suddenly transformed into a Great Patriotic Anti-Nazi war in 1941.

The non-existence of the Polish government.

Indeed the Polish government did flee to Romania, when USSR invaded and it became a 2-front war. Up to then, Poland’s government was still operating and its armed forces were still fighting until 6 Oct. In Romania it was interned stopping any government function.

On September 30, Ignacy Mościcki, President of Poland who was interned in Rumania, handed over his Office to Władysław Raczkiewicz, who managed to get to France.

This was done in accordance with art.24 of the Polish Constitution of 1935 which states that in time of war the term of the President’s office shall be prolonged to three months after the conclusion of peace and that the President by a special act appoints his successor in case the office falls vacant before the conclusion of peace. Art.24 thus preserves the continuity of the office of the President of the Republic of Poland, the source of constitutional authority and the continuity of successive Polish governments. The President is the Head of State. The President is the embodiment of sovereignty and continuity of State authority.

The Parliament of the Republic of Poland was dissolved by President Raczkiewicz in Paris, in November 1939. In its place, a National Council was formed, as an advisory body to the President.

On October 1 in Paris, a Government in Exile, with Sikorski as prime minister is sworn in and the United States and France officially recognised the government.

Bijou, TS really should stand for Tedious Stalinist

He may enjoy this Hymn to Stalin

“…Thank you, Stalin. Thank you because I am joyful. Thank you because I am well. No matter how old I become, I shall never forget how we received Stalin two days ago. Centuries will pass, and the generations still to come will regard us as the happiest of mortals, as the most fortunate of men, because we lived in the century of centuries, because we were privileged to see Stalin, our inspired leader. Yes, and we regard ourselves as the happiest of mortals because we are the contemporaries of a man who never had an equal in world history.

The men of all ages will call on thy name, which is strong, beautiful, wise and marvelous. Thy name is engraven on every factory, every machine, every place on the earth, and in the hearts of all men.

Every time I have found myself in his presence I have been subjugated by his strength, his charm, his grandeur. I have experienced a great desire to sing, to cry out, to shout with joy and happiness. And now see me–me!–on the same platform where the Great Stalin stood a year ago. In what country, in what part of the world could such a thing happen.

I write books. I am an author. All thanks to thee, O great educator, Stalin. I love a young woman with a renewed love and shall perpetuate myself in my children–all thanks to thee, great educator, Stalin. I shall be eternally happy and joyous, all thanks to thee, great educator, Stalin. Everything belongs to thee, chief of our great country. And when the woman I love presents me with a child the first word it shall utter will be: Stalin.

O great Stalin, O leader of the peoples,
Thou who broughtest man to birth.
    Thou who fructifies the earth,
    Thou who restorest to centuries,
Thou who makest bloom the spring,
Thou who makest vibrate the musical chords…
Thou, splendour of my spring, O thou,
Sun reflected by millions of hearts.

The hymn resembles the obeisances to Kublai Khan.

Besides Hymns, there were praying dedicated to Saint Joseph Stalin, and many were promoted by the Russian Orthodox Church when they became allies, during world war two he was promoted like a divine figure, the apostle of god to destroy the devil of nazism

It was all idolatry in the same way that the Egyptian kings were worshipped, and the Roman emperors, or the Popes of Rome

All that comes from the concept of leaders and leadership which is an anti-socialist and anti-Marxist conception, as well as the concept of martyrs and heroes which is used by the capitalist class.

When the Ford assembly line was introduced workers received prizes for producing more profits than anybody else, the same thing was done in other western countries by the capitalist class, Trotsky proposed the militarization of the production

The same case was for Mao Tse Tung there are hundreds of hymns dedicated to the immortal Mao like there are many poems and songs written for Ernesto Che Guevara and in Bolivia, they have erected a church for Saint Ernesto Che Guevara, the cure for all diseases

I remember footage of Chinese teens jumping up and down holding Mao’s little red book so frenziedly that some haemmoraged and were bleeding from the mouth.

Poor old TS, he must be crying himself to sleep knowing that it looks like the Ukrainians will continue to be exploited by their own oligarchs and not Russian oligarchs.

The Divine Mao Tse Tung, the god of agriculture and fishing, without him the world will cease to exist. Just stupid idolatry. Enver Hoxha who was a Leninist and a Stalinist wrote that Mao Tse Tung’s Thought is just modern Confucianism, the philosopher of china’s despotic mode of production.

PS The Red Book was like a Catholic Missal or a Catechism, you must memorize it before the first communion. The Maoist political parties used to teach the same little book to the study group before becoming a member of the masonic temple

I don’t know if he believes any of what he comes out with, or whether he’s just getting off on trolling us.

And, Movimiento, remember that horrid Maoist “Democratic Worker’s Party” in America that terrorised its followers.

And Jim Jones also called himself a socialist.

The divine figure of Joseph Stalin, from theology and apologetics we learned that god is everywhere, and he is always with us, Stalin is also all over the earth, he is with us. It just contradicts what Marx wrote that the liberation of the working class would be done by themselves, they never mentioned the word leaders, divine leaders, or gods. There is no difference between the arrival of Eisenhower, Churchill, or Roosevelt also worshipped by workers in other parts of the world
