Thru all my life, I have never seen a greater retrogression of ideas than this epoch, even more, with the advance of technology workers are more political ignorant than in prior years.I did not need internet, ipad, iphone, and televion to understand what capitalism is, by just reading one book of Engels was more than enough, and I fell in love with the socialist conceptions. In this forum we repeat thousands of times that we do not support any state and any goverment and many peoples continue hammering over the same questions. Are we so brainwashed, or polluted by the capitalist ideology that we can not insert new ideas in our brains ? There is not any magic method to obtain class consciousness, but without reading and studying political ideas it is very difficult to be poliically oriented, and I have not seen too many peoples reading books at the present time, I have seen a lot of peoples playing video games, reading comic books, and playing with smart phones, and libraries, and bookstores are completely empties. The emerge of Donald Trump is a clear indication of the vacumm of ideas that exists in our society at the present time, if we listen or read the speeches given by presidents during the time of John K kennedy and the speeches given by actual presidents, specially Donald Trumnp we can see that most workers do not care about the battles of ideas. Those are signs of the ideoligcally retrogression that we are experimenting at the present time.In some way in this article written by Peter Hudis, he is indicating that we are living a wide world retrogression, and most peoples have not found yet an alternative to capitalismhttp://www.internationalmarxisthumanist.org/articles/resistance-or-retrogression-the-battle-of-ideas-over-iraq-by-peter-hudis

They make me throw up, and they are even approving the death of the 74 peopels that died in Lybia while they were emigrating from others parts of Africa, now they are not humans beings, they are illegal immigrants. It was the same conception used to kill millions of native. Donald Trump phenomenon is not new, it is more than 500 years old

thats an interesting way of looking at it. There's a book called the sane society by Eric Fromm, a book that combines psychoanalysis with Marxist thought. It speaks about the human situation, and how people are living an unfulfilled existence due to the materialism and consumerism of modern capitalism. I think theories like this would be a great place to start understanding how the people's minds work under celebrity culture capitalism, and see how to convey socialism in a way that would ring true to the masses
Freud and Marx, Do they combine ? https://www.worldsocialism.org/spgb/socialist-standard/2000s/2006/no-1221-may-2006/freud-and-marx-do-they-mix
