He is an attorney and he has placed to much trust in the legal system, he thinks that the problems of mankind can be resolved thru the legal system,( wrongly he has coined the concept of corporate socialism )  something that Marx argued that mankind must be above the legal system. George Bush did not win because of him,  it is the normal allegation of the USA politicians to blame they’re lost in external factors, countries, or personalities, instead of the internal struggles of the capitalists’ bandits  George Bush was placed in power by the same legal system that he adores, and the vestige of the slavery system known as the electoral college, in the same way, that Donald Trump was elected by the electoral college. The USA is the only country around the world where a presidential candidate obtaining the majority of votes is the loser, and the minority is the winner, that is what they called democracy. Costa Rica which is  a small country located in Central America has a much better and more democratic electoral system and peoples always elect right-wingers

The Green Party offered the presidential candidacy to Bernie Sanders and he never accepted it, he likes to be thrown under the bus by the leadership of the Democratic Party and to conciliate with them, he is a typical Social Democrat

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/sep/06/bernie-or-bust-left-democrats-biden-trump

“But my bigger fear is that Biden is going to represent four more years of a weak and useless Democrat party that … just sets up the conditions for someone worse than Trump.”

“He’s been doing all of these horrendously centrist things and surrendering to the Republican narrative of protesters being rioters,”

“I don’t see how he’s that much better than Trump. At least with Trump we see it out front.”

“There’s no one who has done more damage to the Black community in the last 40 years than Biden,”

“I don’t want to vote for Joe Biden and I don’t want to vote for Trump…I think either choice is going to lead to human extinction.”

We do have an audience if only we can reach them

Another article about the apathy towards Biden, this time from Hispanic voters

    https://truthout.org/articles/absent-appeals-to-the-left-biden-faces-challenge-to-win-over-latinx-voters/

“Am I really going to waste my vote on this guy?”

“But I’m so far pretty blah about this election,”

“As a Latina, this election makes me feel like I have no choice…There is no way I’d ever vote for racist xenophobic, sexist Donald Trump, but how do I also justify voting for Joe Biden, when he also has a track record of dismissing people of color and making women feel uncomfortable and unsafe?”

I see it is not politically correct to talk about “Latinos” any more. You have to say “Latinxs”  (but how do you pronounce it?). One way round the problem that in Spanish a “Latino” would be a man. I am not sure that “Latinx” will catch on though. President De Gaulle used to get round the problem by beginning his speeches: Français, Françaises.

I can see, though, that it must be odd for a Spanish-speaking woman to have to refer to herself in English as a “Latino”. If you want to invent a new word to get round the problem I would have thought that a “Latin” plural “Latins” would be more natural than “Latinx”.

Latin America does not exist, the term Latin America ( or Latinoamericanos ) was imposed by the Europeans and the USA, in the same way, that the peoples from the USA exclusively call themselves Americans and America is another term imposed because the natives had already given a name to both continents and islands

Many peoples from the Caribbean they speak English and Papiamento those are not Latin language, therefore, they are not Latinos.  Latinos means languages, and they are the Romance language who evolved from the Latin, such as the French, Italian,  Spanish, and Portuguese, it is like semite and Arian which are not races, but languages. What is the difference between a Colombian, Venezuelan, or Bolivian, just the flag, and certain national traditions, but they are all the same

What about Canada, there is a large population in Canada who speak French, they are Latin too. For most peoples in the USA Latinos are the peoples from South America and Central America who speak Spanish, what about the Brazilians who speak Portuguese, the Jamaicans who speak English, the Haitians who speak French and Creole?

As Adam Buick said Latinos ( os ) is a male terminology, and Latinas ( as )  is a female terminology. What about the Chicanos ( as ) who are saying that they are not Latinos?  They call themselves a race, or part of the Nation of Aztlan. This thing about national identity is a real mess

PS There is a new linguist who claimed that the French did not evolve from the Latin, but from a language spoken by the Italian peasants, and Rome is one of the few empires who adopted a foreign language which was Greek and Latin was a dead language

I wonder if Daniel De Leon spoke Papiamento since he came from an island where it’s spoken. But it sounds as if it might be at least in part a Latin language?

A Hispanic is a person from the Iberian Peninsula and it is shared by Spain and Portugal, the invaders of South America, Central America and the Caribbean were Castilians.

Daniel De Leon spoke several languages, and probably he spoke Papiamento, they said that his original language was Spanish, but Papiamento ( Papiamentu )  also sounds like Spanish,  and probably his family were Jewish Sephardic. Papiamento is a Spanish creole language mixed with other languages

They are also saying that the Democrats are losing the black votes after they voted for Joe Biden instead of Bernie Sanders, and most young peoples do not want to vote for Joe Biden either

So Marcos, if Latino, if Hispanic, if Latinx are not appropriate terms then what word should we apply to those communities from so many various countries?

When it comes to voting, is “fellow human beings” a helpful way of differentiating voting intentions of various communities and who politicians are appeal to.

White Evangelical Christians support for Trump is not 100% accurate but in terms of explaining the political separation and division in the US, it is appropriate.

I have had the same problem of what term for African-Americans which i use now, since negro, coloured (and even black sometimes) are no longer PC.

What is the purpose of differentiating the voting intentions of various communities?  We already know that the vast majority of workers, regardless of their ethnic origin, will continue to vote for the continuation of capitalism for the foreseeable future…

Dave has used the proper term, the natives called themselves peoples from the earth or human beings in modern terminology. Wall Mapu and Abya Yala was the name of the Americas
