It looks like one sector of the USA ruling class wants Donald Trump out of the White House. They are heavily investing in Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, even more, some Republicans are forming a committee to go against Trump reelection
August 18, 2020 at 9:13 pm #205914AnonymousInactiveBernie Sanders supported Hillary Clinton, and now he is supporting Joe Biden. These politicians do not have any dignity
August 19, 2020 at 1:07 pm #205916PartisanZParticipantWho will win, the moron or the senile? The losers will be the working class, whoever wins.
August 19, 2020 at 2:20 pm #205917AnonymousInactiveWhenever a capitalist leader wins an election, the working class receive a defeat, that is a very easy equation to be resolved. This convention of the so-called Democratic Party is just a pre-convention for preparation for war against the working class, a criminal and warmonger like Collin Powell was one of the speakers, a man who was the architect of the slaughter that took place in Iraq and praising another criminal like McCain, also another war criminal was John Kerry who was part of the plot of Ukraine and Syria, it was a convention of gangsters and mafiosos, and then all those false socialists and so-called progressive laying down in the same bed with all these outlaws, Al Capone is a boy scout or an altar boy compared to all these criminals. Do peoples need magnifying glasses or binocular to see the reality? When the working class is going to stop smoking this social opium and wake up?
August 19, 2020 at 4:18 pm #205919alanjjohnstoneKeymasterOur problem is that the philosophy of the lesser evil is deeply ingrained in politics.
America has no third party to speak of.
As long as Chomsky and Sanders keep endorsing the Democratic Party and the progressives and the DSA keeps thinking it can influence its policies people will continue to vote for it. And when it fails to deliver, the alternative is to vote for the Republicans….and when they disappoint…back to the Democratic Party who have re-worded their same old promises.
We witnessed how the Establishment and the media will never countenance a British Labour Party led by even a moderate radical like Corbyn and as the internal report shows even its own senior officials and own MPs will sabotage its chances of being elected and preferred the Labour Party to implode. They saw any successes under Corbyn as failures.
But it is the chicken and the egg dilemma…without support, the mass socialist party will not come about…without the mass socialist party, support will not come about.
How to solve this, answers please on a postcard to 52 Clapham High St, London, SW4

It is really pathetic that the USA is the only industrialized country around the world who does not have a working-class political party, any so-called asshole country ( like Donald Trump said ) has a working-class political party, and it is one of the few countries where the working class itself is opposed to the workers’ unions, even more, a social democrat like Bernie Sanders can be elected as a presidential candidate, something that is very normal in other countries. The rulers have made a wonderful job in the minds of the workers like a factory worker said: They have enslaved our bodies and our minds
August 19, 2020 at 5:41 pm #205924AnonymousInactiveIn Central America they have a rope ready for Collin Powell, Oliver North,John Negroponte, Henry Kissinger and Eliott Abrams, they were part of the Condor Operation and the criminal and terrorist operation of the Nicaraguan Contras, El Chapo is a retailer compared to them when tons of cocaine were purchased from Colombian drugs dealers to finance the Contras. John Kerry is another collaborator with all the right wingers, paramiltary and criminal from South America specially Colombia sent by Barrack Obama to tight the screws on the working class of that region, and now he is also a speaker at the Democratic National Convention. It looks like a scene from the Wyat Earp cowboy movie and the O. K. Corral

His intelligent question was never answered, he could have been accused of being a thief.
The whole convention was about national security and the homeland, but what national security and what country? A human being living on a salary or unemployed does not have national security or any country

It is also the same dilemma of the Maoists: let’s get the theory on the route, but without a genuine socialist theory in our brains, nothing will be done. There was not chicken and there was no egg, it was a dinosaur, and capitalism is a dinosaur which must be extinguished from our society

August 20, 2020 at 10:05 pm #205944PartisanZParticipantThis is from our A-Z of Marxism.

Fascism. The term fascismo was coined by the Italian Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini and Hegelian philosopher Giovanni Gentile. It is derived from the Italian word fascio, which means ‘bundle’ or ‘union’. Fascism was an authoritarian, nationalistic and anti-socialist political ideology that preaches the need for a strong state ruled by a single political party led by a charismatic leader. Later the word was used in relation to a similar extreme nationalist movement in Germany even though this described itself as ‘national-socialist’ (Nazi) rather than fascist. Both these movements won control of political power more or less constitutionally, in Italy in 1922 and in Germany in 1933, and proceeded to establish a one-party dictatorship with mass organisations to win over the population and preaching that all members of the ‘nation’ had a common interest. Fascism/Nazism was implacably opposed to Marxism for its internationalism and its recognition of the class struggle within nations.

Good and evil…darkness and light…
Platitudes
August 21, 2020 at 7:41 am #205948ALBKeymasterWhat did you expect him to say ! Something like?
”I pledge that, if elected as president of the executive committee of the US ruling class, I will at all times pursue their interests at home and abroad, irrespective of what this might involve for workers in America and other countries.”
That’ll be the day.
August 21, 2020 at 9:42 am #205952alanjjohnstoneKeymasterI think what he won’t say is that he intends to bring in an exorcist when he gets to the White House, ALB, because the previous incumbent has been doing the work of the Devil…
Isn’t he going to “restore the soul of America”?
It seems that is the message being sent to the voters…
In a way we too talk about the election in religious terms of lesser and greater evil.
I read a analogy recently.
Politics can be either going by car all the way to your destination…or going by bus and then having to get off at a bus-stop closest to your destination.

August 21, 2020 at 8:02 pm #205984AnonymousInactiveAll bourgeoisie politicians make all kind of promises which make them look that they are peoples benefactors and liberators ( right and left ), and in the USA the presidential speeches are written by professional writers and they are able to search for the perfect phrases and slogans to motivate the workers to vote for them, but as soon as they arrive at the White House they must read the same handbook read by the prior presidents ( starting with George Washington ) and act according to the handbook to fight for the interests of the real rulers: The bourgeoisie class, and there is no conspiracy that this or the other individual is the ruler, it is the whole USA capitalist class, only the fools support the foolish conspiracy theories.
At the very beginning Barrack Obama sounded like a Bolshevik or a black Jacobin who was going to move all the stones for the working class, and for eight years he was one of the best servants of the US ruling class, and now he is a millionaire and he is living like a king, and he was a simple university teacher before becoming a senator and a president, he is a just a glorified gangster. Like many politicians in Latin American, they come to government wearing sandals and at the end, they are travelling in helicopters and driving Rolls Royce and Bentley
A journalist from Paraguay told to George Bush: You are a midget who projected by the shade of the sun will make you look like a giant, they are just a bunch of midget, but peoples make them look like giant, if peoples do not support them, we will see that they are just a bunch of assholes or midget and we will understand that we do not need them, we do not need any leaders
