Oh yes... it's a
Brand new pamphlet from Past Tense!
Hot off the Press, it's a re-published version of an old Campaign for Real Life fave from the 80s...
Unwaged Fightback: a history of Islington Action Group of the Unwaged, 1980 - 1986
With the dole queue growing, a timely tale from the last recession but one...
What happens when a group of unemployed trying to organise for themselves has to take on not only the benefits system, but the entrenched interests of the trade union hierarchies and the local council?
Unwaged Fightback is a firsthand account of an unwaged workers’ group in 1980s London, its efforts to establish and run a centre for the unemployed and its relationships to the Miners’ Strike and other struggles of its times.
55 pages.
Cover price: £3.00.
Plus 70p postage and packing.
As usual bulk orders for bookshops, stalls, distros etc can be obtained for a discount, contact us for details.
Also available; we recently published two new posters, along the same design as two of our postcards we put out this Spring - on an anti-austerity historical theme...
1. Let's Build Cockaigne
2. Loot the Shops and Paaaaarty!
PDFs of these two are attached - altho they're smaller, the posters are A3
size...
Now they're only A POUND, but its another pound for P&P....
Finally... 'Going underground' , a short but snappy communique from the sewers we were sent earlier this year, is also available from us, in a funky A6 format, free, yes free, well for an SAE or a stamp or two...
All the above are available by post from

Many of our older publications are now out of print, though some are still available. Our catalogue is now out of date, so if you are interested in a
list of what is still in print, drop us a line by email.
We do try to reprint our back catalogue when we can, but money is tight, and we are working on future pamphlets and books as well as more postcards, posters and other projects. Some of the longer texts we have been planning are still being researched, thought about, revamped, but over the next couple of years we hope they will see the light of day. We are also planning to put together a program of walks and other events for 2012; watch this space, or if you have ideas that you think fit the past tense mission, get in touch.
