On this occasion I agree with Lizzie (although I don’t consider it acceptable for her to accuse Bijou of being a “sexist shit”). I do think it was sexist of Bijou to address Lizzie as “pet”. He’s tried to defend himself but his Geordie excuses don’t wash. His nearest and dearest may well refer to each other as “pet” but that doesn’t mean it’s acceptable for him to refer to Lizzie, or anyone else who isn’t part of his intimate circle, as “pet”: for example would he address me, the male bus driver, the man fixing his roof, his manly plumber or builder, any party member including for example Cde Buick, the policeman or fireman, the surgeon, the doctor, the headteacher and so on as “pet”. Of course not. He used the term “pet” to patronise and demean Lizzie, perhaps unconsciously, but Bijou once you’re in a hole – honestly, you shouldn’t keep digging.
PaulaPerhaps just posting a general reminder to behave (or posting nothing at all) would have been better in this case. Individuals posting their personal moral judgements about other users definitely does not contribute to the quality of a forum.
I also realise this post is contributing to the growing pile of shit posts.

I call lots of “manly blokes” hinny or pet, if not that then I would say marra (For cde Buick it would probably be marra). Only exception from your list would be a male police officer, who I really enjoy calling either son or sonny, that is where I do genuinely try to be patronising and belittling, it winds them up like a cheap watch and they can’t say a thing to an auld git like me.
In West Yorkshire, where I work often, it’s quite common for men to call each other love, and when I worked in Hampshire some of the older guys would often call me either “flower” or “my lover”.

As for stopping digging when you’re in a hole, being from at least 5 generations of miners (including my great grandmother!), I’m probably genetically predisposed to keep on digging!

This is about as convincing as those who say “socialism is inevitable”. And no less dogmatic.
The truth is we don’t know. It might not but then again it might. But even if socialism is never going to happen, that would not invalidate being a socialist and putting forward the case for socialism, one bit. To the extent that any of us as individuals make a difference to the world that we live in today, I cannot think of anything that would make a better difference than this

Moderators must send a private message to the members of the forum, and cite a forum rules in the forum
Matt never attacked party members in the forum, he always protect party members from provocations and insults, and he always sent private message to correct the violation, he was very discrete
We must keep topic on track instead of letting trolls to deviate the threads and that is the main purpose of the trolls, and any troll and provocateurs that is constantly taking thread out of tracks must be placed on moderation or must be blocked or kick out
The reason why many organizations are moving their discussions and mailing list toward Groups IO it is because they can have more control over their threads and topics, and all conversations can be followed in the proper manners, and troublemakers can not change the topic or the thread

I do not care if socialism is not going to be established now or tomorrow, I do not suffer from petty bourgeois desperation like the guerrillas fighters, who want to act in the name of the majority of the workers, what I know is that a new world is possible to be established.

Well Bijou I admire your tenacity. However there is a difference between manly Geordies calling each other “pet” and you calling Lizzie “pet”. Lizzie objected to you addressing her in this way for good reason. I don’t understand why you can’t understand this. If women are addressed by men as – for example – love, pet, hen, babe, sweetie etc in the context of a political online discussion then surely you must see that it is patronising. Even though you normally address other men in this way due to your ethnic background apparently, and bearing in mind that Lizzie is not a manly Geordie as far as we know.
It seems to me this so-called ‘socialist’ organisation is literally peppered with sexists having now been at the receiving end of patronising comments on several different occasions other than those recently meted out by the shitter-in-chief (the appropriately named Bijou Drains) and Almamater (aka Movimento Socialista).
Hardly surprising that women are almost entirely absent in this nasty little ‘party’. Paula must be a masochist.
