OK. Should have ended /blockquote. Like this (I hope).
I am not accustomed to having to do html to use bold or italics or whatever. Was bad enough having to quote/unquote on the old forum to copy and paste.
October 12, 2018 at 6:55 pm #152565ALBKeymasterEureka. That was a quote from Alan J. Now I now how to do bold and italics as well.
Why does the passage quoted appear so large?October 12, 2018 at 7:04 pm #152566PartisanZParticipantEureka. That was a quote from Alan J. Now I now how to do bold and italics as well.
Why does the passage quoted appear so large?I think it was the ‘blockquote cite’= of Alan’s does that. Yes definitely i just checked. You end with just the ‘/blockquote’.

October 13, 2018 at 6:58 am #152686ALBKeymasterI don’t think the large size or the italics has to do with Alan J’s eyesight. It seems to be built into <blockquote . Another minor glitch to iron out?
October 18, 2018 at 12:48 pm #153493J SurmanParticipantPhew, at last!
I’ve spent hours over days trying to get in to the forum and here I am , with nothing to say – except, having read the previous comments on this thread, I would only be repeating others’ frustrations.
Now I’ve found my way in I need a long rest and just hope I’ll get it right when i have another go tomorrow.
October 28, 2018 at 6:17 am #155189ALBKeymasterSince we’ve just been joined by our first troll since re-opening, another p.m.: To restore the way to deal with them that we had before, whatever it was. Was it moderating their posts before they appeared or something like that?
December 26, 2018 at 1:26 pm #174520vincentMParticipantNot one to keep my opinions to myself –
I have noticed on the party’s yahoo list that some members are not satisfied with this £10,000 forum. I am no longer a member but visit the forum now and then and feel compelled to repeat my initial feelings on this subject.
The forum is not fit for purpose and therefore absolute robbery and the party must have some legal recourse. It did not – does not have – have even the basic facilities required.
It would be even worse if it wasn’t for the hard working party members patching it up
”
IMposs “Sorry, but I hope this is a “work in progress” because as it currently stands the website’s an embarrassment. It’s arguably one of the worst websites I’ve seen in years. YEARS.”
DITTOAbsolutely horrendous. Unless this is some form of ‘draft’ then the Party has been robbed.
I suggest members look at other sites for examples; there are loads of good user friendly designs to choose from.
A random one.

I find it very un-intuitive to paste links, quote etc. I have to say I agree with some of the criticisms above and was quite shocked at the costs of recovery and the time/results.
I understand comrades are working hard to maintain and improve the site, but for the fees involved, its not perhaps as appealing or easy to use as it should be.

December 29, 2018 at 6:30 am #174753J SurmanParticipantI can’t help thinking that these problems are responsible for the fewer numbers of participants. I read but rarely attempt to post.
One unresolved problem for me is that whatever i try i cannot unsubscribe from follow up replies to this thread.
December 29, 2018 at 6:36 am #174754J SurmanParticipantHmmm – having just written the previous, unticked the box for the 94th time, posted the previous – the tick box has remained unticked – hooray, fingers crossed.

Why do you wish to use <p></p> or any other code?
I edited a couple of your recent posts which had the above.
If you want to embolden text highlight it and then use the B
If you want to separate it a line use [ Return] on your keyboard.
If you wish to add a link, highlight it and click on the paperclip link thing above and enter the url on the ‘insert link’ screen.
”Failed to load plugin: wordpress from url
You do not say what you were doing to get this error so I am none the wiser.
I had already added a plugin to this BBpress Forum the tool bar above your post screen, which posters said at the time said in feedback, improved it a little, called TinyMCE although it hadn’t been tested with this version of WordPress.
The message you got may have something to do with this.
But that is a mere guess on my part as I don’t know what you were doing prior to this.

That was rapidly becoming the case in the previous Forum. I just scan the headlines and read interesting to me posts only.
I am only posting here now because I am in the IT department.
December 29, 2018 at 11:30 am #174791alanjjohnstoneKeymasterThere is also a lack of visitors to Libcom forum
As for code, it is a side effect of copying then pasting. I never used them. They automatically appear
