    I don't think Karl Marx spoke there, did he? I know he wrote an article about anti-Church, pro-beer demonstration there in 1855 but I can't imagine him getting up on a soapbox:

    I don't think he spoke, but he did write about the Hyde Park Riots which founded it, so perhaps he popped along…

    My local council has just initiated  a local 'speakers corner', which seems so circumscribed to be practically useless. For one it is only once a month, and limited to one speaker at a time, there also appears to be a 'theme' for speakers to talk on. I am also less than impressed that the local papers report has managed to delete/ censor the only comment by a reader.
