February 27, 2021 at 10:01 am #214425alanjjohnstoneKeymasterWe certainly don’t hold with the right-wing media but in the US there are attempts not to go through the legislative process and pass laws but to pressure unaccountable private companies to de-platform the cable news outlets, the liberal/progressive/leftists disagree with.
March 4, 2021 at 10:16 am #214811alanjjohnstoneKeymasterChina campaigns to undermine the BBC.
March 17, 2021 at 8:00 am #215502alanjjohnstoneKeymasterAn informative article of media manipulation citing the expose work of Peter Oborne who on this forum has been quoted approvingly on various international affairs.
March 23, 2021 at 2:04 am #215880ZJWParticipantNorman Finkelstein: ‘WHY WE SHOULD REJOICE AT HOLOCAUST DENIERS, NOT SUPPRESS THEM – A Reply to Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’: http://normanfinkelstein.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Finkelstein-HDeny.pdf
March 23, 2021 at 10:19 am #215884PartisanZParticipantThis article was submitted to multiple “progressive” publications touting a principled commitment to freedom of speech. It was rejected by all of them.
Not submitted to us surely?
March 23, 2021 at 11:04 am #215887alanjjohnstoneKeymasterI very much doubt we are on Finkelstein’s radar.
And anyway it would have been rejected by the Standard’s editors as they are reluctant to publish non-members.
The WSPUS may have been more receptive having a more lenient editorial policy
And our SOYMB blog would very much have welcomed it since i have admired Finkelstein for quite a while even if he is dour sounding individual. In fact, i have trouble identifying any animated speaker.
March 30, 2021 at 2:45 am #216315alanjjohnstoneKeymasterIt should go to climate crisis thread but i already posted twice there
This didn’t make the UK news…we can wonder why
But one point is clear, well-intentioned initiatives such as climate citizen’s assemblies simply have their recommendations ignored if it doesn’t fit in with capitalism’s plans.
April 21, 2021 at 7:11 am #217110alanjjohnstoneKeymasterAbout the bias of the Guardian and well worth a read

April 30, 2021 at 4:12 pm #217463james19ParticipantKarma? I don’t have Facebook. I found a policeman who assaulted a pregnant woman and a man video posted on Facebook and comments by the usual suspects (retiree cops) praising the cop, abusing the female, offensive.
The pregnant woman is suing the police.Facebook are crying because Apple have a new feature iOS 14.5 that’s automatically set to off, that stops companies (like Facebook) from tracking advertising, to users.

September 8, 2021 at 1:51 am #221754alanjjohnstoneKeymasterBBC bias reporting
This is from RT, a main rival to the BBC and the voice of Putin’s Russia, but even so, its claims of the BBC distorting the news is valid.
