I think it was Vin who suggested this idea. Its not a bad idea at all and may well be helpful to the democratic running of this forum as well as encouraging greater participation and more widely-based input (the ratio of lurkers to active participants on this forum is unhealthily and disturbingly large, I have noted)
I am not active any more on the Revleft forum – I have to seriously prioritise my time these days and engaging in the cut and thrust of debates over on that forum is frankly not one of my priorities. Nevertheless I cannot help noticing how the effective use of the "like" button has contributed to the relative success of that forum. However imperfectly, it opens up another dimension of interest to visitors to the forum: the relative popularity or otherwise of certain arguments or ideas. It is also an inducement to people to phrase their arguments more carefully and persuasively.
The same is true of Urban 75 and other forums which I have long ago abandoned because of the pressure of time…
Is there a way in which the comrades operating this site could technically instal such a facility?
