The Labour Party has always been intellectually bankrupt. I am sure some capitalist donor will step in to stop them going financially bankrupt. An effective alternative government is useful for capitalism as it stops one set of politicians being in power too long and getting sticky fingers. And as a bonus maybe they will get a knighthood or lordship when the next Labour government of capitalism comes in.

Apparently Labour is now calling itself “the Party of NATO”. What are the unions doing financing the band of unprincipled place-hunters that the parliamentary Labour Party is? Cut them adrift and let them go bankrupt.

Apparently Starmer is not a nationalist but only a patriot. I thought patriotism was something for scoundrels. So there’s nothing stopping him being both.

Labour – the Party of Law and Order

Labour’s deputy leader, Angela Rayner, has been criticised after saying she wants police to “shoot your terrorists and ask questions second.”

Speaking to Matt Forde’s Political Party podcast, Rayner said she was “quite hardline” on law and order and suggested police should “antagonise” criminals.

“On things like law and order I am quite hardline. I am like, shoot your terrorists and ask questions second, “On law and order, I think if you are being terrorised by the local thug, I want a copper to come and sort them out,” she said. “You should be hardline on things like that. I want you to beat down the door of the criminals and sort them out and antagonise them. That’s what I say to my local police
three o’clock in the morning and antagonise them.”

That ended with the shoot-to-kill policy in Northern Ireland and the SAS summary execution of IRA at Gibraltar.

Who remembers the Stalker Inquiry these days?

Another proof that the Labour Party is politically bankrupt. From today’s Times:

“Sir Kier Starmer has suggested that he will expel Labour MPs who do not voice ‘unshakeable support for Nato.’ The Labour leader said he was ‘very clear’ that support for the military alliance is ‘the root of the Labour Party’.”

His next move, as he subordinates everything else to furthering the political careers of himself and the rest of his gang of place-hunters, must be to change his name. The man he is named after, Kier Hardie, was not a socialist but at least he didn’t think that the root of a party claiming to represent “Labour” was support for a military alliance.

What a despicable creature he is.

Jeremy Corbyn still retains a loyal base within the Labour Party yet exactly the same as Bernie Sanders in the Democratic Party declines to organise them as an independent party.

In doing so, both reinforce the delusion that these are workers’ parties and deserve support.

Neither Corbyn nor Sanders are principled enough to desert the party machine. (albeit Corbyn has lost the whip)

    https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/may/13/wakefield-labour-executive-resigns-accusing-keir-starmer-byelection-stich-up

The 16-strong executive of Wakefield constituency Labour party (CLP) has resigned en masse, accusing Keir Starmer of stitching up the selection of a candidate for the forthcoming byelection. Labour sources suggested Starmer’s office had been keen to keep Hemingway, deputy leader of Wakefield council, a left-winger, off the list

Jonathan Cook on the Labour Party

    https://www.middleeasteye.net/opinion/keir-starmer-western-imperialism-back-core-labour-policy

“The ugly new face of Labour politics under Starmer is becoming ever harder to conceal. Under cover of rooting out the remnants of Corbynism, Starmer is not only proving himself an outright authoritarian…He is also reviving the worst legacies of a Labour tradition that cheerleads western imperialism and cosies up to racist states – as long as they are allies of Washington and ready to buy British arms…”

I see that Boris just called Starmer in the House of a Commons “Sir Beer Korma”. Not bad, even if typical of his buffoonery.
