September 24, 2013 at 5:18 am #88571AnonymousInactiveAnother good three hours spent last Saturday during which several conversations were held with workers. A number of the branch's own leaflets, "The Abolition of the Wages System" and "No Governments, No Leaders, No Led" were handed out and one September Socialist Standard, one "Socialism Or Your Money Back" one "Socialist Principles Explained" and two of the branch's revamped "The Strike Weapon" pamphlets were sold.

May 30, 2015 at 10:27 pm #88581AnonymousInactiveGood day in Canterbury today Several people came up to the stall to buy standards and we met some of our 165 voters. One had voted for us as she mistook us for the SLP (hadn’t seen our leaflet) and was disillusioned with Labour – she agreed with our case but thought we were too utopian; another said he had been trying to get all his friends to vote for us so we kept our deposit. We told him he needed more friends. The downside was we couldn’t get our usual spot as there was a children’s fund-raising performance in the square, but when we went further down the precinct one of the stall-holders asked us to move and suggested we go across the street. Apparently there is a new rule requiring them to space the stalls so as not to block out the shops and the guy thought he might get into trouble for being too near to us. There was a closed phone shop nearby so we set up the stall outside there – it was good position as we stood out really well.SalesStandards: five; books and pamphlets; six – total sales and donations £15.50And three more email contacts…
